The “High Street Hike”: 10 Years Later
It was 10 years ago this past weekend that I walked down High Street from Downtown, SOUTH through the Brewery District and Merion Village, to State Route 104. And then, I turned back around and went back up NORTH on High Street, deviating up a bit to Front Street in the Brewery District, and then back up High Street through Downtown and the Short North, to the South Campus Gateway, and then back through the Short North, where I finished off with drinks somewhere.
The goal was to re-enact this historic hike. Last year was my first attempt, but the weekend of was completely rained out, and my availability did not align for the rest of 2019 before it got colder. Then, my goal was to do it again for the 10 year anniversary (this past weekend). And then, this thing called COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) happened, and I decided that now was NOT the best time to do it. And then it rained on (and off) on Saturday. So, better luck next year.
Here are photos from the “Historic Hike” from back in 2010. And The DJBC Happy Hour will be going back in time to 2010 in August.
