  • I don’t believe God hates people. God wants relationship with His people. You can’t have relationship with Him and justify living in sin. They don’t mix. Why would you want anything in your heart that’s not in Jesus’ heart? Why would you embrace what a holy, perfect, pure and good Father and Creator says is wrong and cling to it when He has better for you in the Holy Spirit?

“If God loves me then He’s okay with my sinning.” No, if God loves you He’d send His Son to forgive and remove your sin, so that through faith in Him you could die to sin to be and live righteous and bear holy fruit, not dead, sinful fruit that comes from self-centered thinking fueled by lust and deceit.

  • “For me, trees have always been the most penetrating preachers. I revere them when they live in tribes and families, in forests and groves. And even more I revere them when they stand alone. They are like lonely persons. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, like Beethoven and Nietzsche. In their highest boughs the world rustles, their roots rest in infinity; but they do not lose themselves there, they struggle with all the force of their lives for one thing only: to fulfil themselves according to their own laws, to build up their own form, to represent themselves. Nothing is holier, nothing is more exemplary than a beautiful, strong tree. When a tree is cut down and reveals its naked death-wound to the sun, one can read its whole history in the luminous, inscribed disk of its trunk: in the rings of its years, its scars, all the struggle, all the suffering, all the sickness, all the happiness and prosperity stand truly written, the narrow years and the luxurious years, the attacks withstood, the storms endured. And every young farmboy knows that the hardest and noblest wood has the narrowest rings, that high on the mountains and in continuing danger the most indestructible, the strongest, the ideal trees grow.

Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.

A tree says: A kernel is hidden in me, a spark, a thought, I am life from eternal life. The attempt and the risk that the eternal mother took with me is unique, unique the form and veins of my skin, unique the smallest play of leaves in my branches and the smallest scar on my bark. I was made to form and reveal the eternal in my smallest special detail.

A tree says: My strength is trust. I know nothing about my fathers, I know nothing about the thousand children that every year spring out of me. I live out the secret of my seed to the very end, and I care for nothing else. I trust that God is in me. I trust that my labor is holy. Out of this trust I live.

When we are stricken and cannot bear our lives any longer, then a tree has something to say to us: Be still! Be still! Look at me! Life is not easy, life is not difficult. Those are childish thoughts. Let God speak within you, and your thoughts will grow silent. You are anxious because your path leads away from mother and home. But every step and every day lead you back again to the mother. Home is neither here nor there. Home is within you, or home is nowhere at all.

A longing to wander tears my heart when I hear trees rustling in the wind at evening. If one listens to them silently for a long time, this longing reveals its kernel, its meaning. It is not so much a matter of escaping from one’s suffering, though it may seem to be so. It is a longing for home, for a memory of the mother, for new metaphors for life. It leads home. Every path leads homeward, every step is birth, every step is death, every grave is mother.

So the tree rustles in the evening, when we stand uneasy before our own childish thoughts: Trees have long thoughts, long-breathing and restful, just as they have longer lives than ours. They are wiser than we are, as long as we do not listen to them. But when we have learned how to listen to trees, then the brevity and the quickness and the childlike hastiness of our thoughts achieve an incomparable joy. Whoever has learned how to listen to trees no longer wants to be a tree. He wants to be nothing except what he is. That is home. That is happiness.”

  • The joy of being in a relationship isn’t having a girlfriend or a wife to have sex with and/or showing her off so people believe you’re worth someone’s time and effort. It’s being like Jesus to her, in her life, for her.

Our nation needs restoration and revival, and these require courage. We cannot truly declare the Gospel of Christ Jesus while simultaneously being in lockstep with the world, using the same eyes to see the world, the same language to discuss the world, and possessing the same interests of where to invest our energy as the world. We must be like Nehemiah and courageously say “no" to unGodly things in our world.

Courage is not merely one of the cardinal virtues, for courage is altogether unique in its relationship to virtue. Rather than being a virtue, courage is the willingness to test virtue. Truly, courage is one’s willingness to test the holy teachings of God, it is a willingness to step out into a hostile world in order to declare the holy and true principles of God while firmly rejecting the beliefs, arguments, and even language of the world. If the world can get you to use its language, it can get you to see with its eyes and cut you off from God’s virtues. Courage is a willingness to stake your life, and, as Nehemiah shows us, even the lives of your family and neighbors, on the holy principles of God in opposition to the various matters to which the world demands we bow.

  • You don’t want to be intimate with someone you believe is visually appealing to you (looking at them with desire for them) if you don’t want to marry them and give your life to them, without considering jumping ship somewhere down the road, changing and making it about you rather than about Jesus and them - no condemnation to those who have been but God hates divorce - what He joins together let no man seperate.

But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so; in such a case the brother or sister is not bound. It is to peace that God has called you. Wife, for all you know, you might save your husband. Husband, for all you know, you might save your wife.”

  • 1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2 a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, even to the years of many generations. 3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and none hath escaped them.

4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so do they run. 5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6 At their presence the peoples are in anguish; all faces are waxed pale. 7 They run like mighty men; they climb the wall like men of war; and they march every one on his ways, and they break not their ranks. 8 Neither doth one thrust another; they march every one in his path; and they burst through the weapons, and break not off their course. 9 They leap upon the city; they run upon the wall; they climb up into the houses; they enter in at the windows like a thief. 10 The earth quaketh before them; the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. 11 And Jehovah uttereth his voice before his army; for his camp is very great; for he is strong that executeth his word; for the day of Jehovah is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

  • Do You See GOD Working On Your Life? | Paul Washer

    image

There are people in this room right now, who if they
died would be translated into heaven & they will bear
          upon themselves a glory unspeakable.

And there are other people in this room right now, who
if they die will be sent by the judgment of GOD
          straight into hell.

Where the grace of GOD is totally removed & they will
be revealed as the monsters that they truly are.

  • Some think being a couple before marriage without hand holding, hard hugging and kissing etc. is hard but that’s only because Christians try to do it apart from submitting themselves to truth. Faith makes all things possible and if you two abide in His first love, you’ll actually feel closer through Jesus than you ever would by being physically intimate. You won’t even be thinking about it because you’re too busy pursuing Jesus together and keeping each other accountable.

  • A women can struggle with believing she is worth being loved by God in a man because of how she sees herself or what she thinks she knows about herself but the whole point of being Christian is to deny yourself, so it’s not about what she may think or feel, it’s about what He did. “Hey, but I’m a mess,” No, you’re God’s kid.

Love is not about touching someone’s body to make them believe they’re good or looking at someone with desire for them to make them believe they’re good. It’s setting their soul free and giving them Jesus, and then in a marriage she can live in love and naturally fall into intimacy from the heart rather than it be fleshly work that’s selfish and full of insecurity.

I don’t believe in using feelings to make yourself believe you matter. I believe in communicating the Gospel to make people believe they matter.

  • Your soul and sanctification is your own responsibility — the bible says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. No one should try to intentionally offend you but no one is responsible to keep you in the love of Jesus. He welcomes you to be with Him, and you should be more attracted to Him than you are this world.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. Anyone who loves the world doesn’t have the love of the Father in them, for all that is in the world—the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of this world. And the world is passing away but he who does the will of God will abide forever.
