A request outside of tumblr. I really loved this idea (and of course, space/Star Wars is always a YES in my books). I’m so hungover today so it was nice to just sketch up something, may clean up another time who knows?
Asami as a Star Wars smuggler (think Han Solo) and Korra as Mandalorian or Jedi with clone wars style armour

Eda leans down and makes eye contact with you. 'Courage and strength. You have it. I've seen it.'
‘I want to go home.’
You press your palms to your eyes, trying to stop the wet sob from clawing out of your chest. You needed to be quiet. You didn’t need more attention than you already got from Warden Wrath.
‘I'm so tired, Eda.’
'I know. I'm sorry. But I need you to hold on. For us.'
You were exhausted. You got plenty of sleep, but that’s about the only thing you’ve got. You don’t know how long you’ve been here, except that it's cold, and you’re hungry, and you miss your friends. Their hugs and their laughter. It feels too distant now. It's dark here. They don't bother lighting the tiny fire lamp some days, and they just let you sit in the darkness.
You screw your eyes shut as your mentor's words echo through your mind.
'Get up. Now.’
‘I can't do this now.’
'Yes, you can. You need to. You cannot stay like this anymore. You're wasting away. Now. Get up.'
Your limbs protest, and the floor is cold as you step your bare feet on them. You can only make out the bed you’d gotten up from, but the cell is tiny, too, and once you’re on your feet, you realize it's been a little too long since you so much as stretched your muscles, and they're all cramped up.
Slowly, you begin directing yourself to curl your toes. To circle your ankles, and to stretch your calves. Your muscles tremble, and many times, you want to just flop back on the bed and curl up, but the memories of the woman who took you in are insistent, is there – they’re always there, and it's the most comfort you’ve gotten by far.
'Morning routine, kiddo.’
You suck in a breath. You’re lightly sweating already.
"Right now? Eda, I don't feel like-‘
‘You never will.'
‘If you don't push yourself now, you will never feel like it.' There was something pained in Eda as she spoke. 'And as long as I am here, I will not see you fall into this sad pit. I've been there.'
Eda had told you nearly every bit of her story once you had grown old enough, you’ve seen the greatest and worst sides of her, the sides only a family member should see.
Your eyes stung as you thought of them.
‘Tell me what to do.’
‘We keep moving, (Y/n). And I will be here every step of the way.’
You shakily exhale. “Thank you.” And you began moving once more.
Hunter hated playing the waiting game.
He wanted to get you out, and he wanted to get you out now. Not in a few days or weeks, now.
Luz slowly approached him in the hallway from his right, and they began walking together to the others on a balcony in the Conformatorium. Entering the open area, Eda, Lilith, and Amity are already waiting for them.
"I asked around the guards," Luz begins, pressing her hands to the cold metal rail, fingers tapping against it. "And maybe a week ago, they mentioned that the Warden had personally come down to welcome some special cargo. One of their most dangerous prisoners. It has to be (Y/n)."
"That doesn't make sense," Hunter muses. "Dangerous? I thought they'd brought her here because she's one of us."
"Hunter, she's one of the most powerful witches on the Boiling Isles," Lilith mutters under her breath. "From what protocol I know, powerful witches aren't supposed to be here, in the Conformatorium. They're usually taken straight into the castle, where more witches can watch them can keep them under constant surveillance."
"But then why'd they bring her here?"
As easily as Lilith’s expression was thoughtful, it shifted into something grim as she eyed the tower where Warden Wrath was at the moment. "The Warden. He's a ruthless interrogator, from what I hear. Kikimora probably assigned him to get as much information from (Y/n) as possible. He likes to string things out, make his prisoners want to divulge information, keep them alive just barely, and when they get desperate enough, the Warden will get what he wants."
Fear has never struck his heart so violently as it has now, and Hunter finds himself without breath, devolving into horror that he has to swallow to get the lump in his throat out. "How—" His voice cracks, and everyone turns to him, looking surprised, before he realizes how truly callous that sounds. "How long do you think (Y/n)'s been here?"
"Two weeks, maybe. A little more if we're being generous." Lilith finally notices how distraught Hunter is, and maybe he understands a fraction of how terrified Hunter is right now, but Hunter—he can't let this keep happening. Why—why is this happening to (Y/n)? It's always her caught in the crossfire or getting hurt and he hates it. He wants to rip out his own hair and really—
Luz places a hand on his shoulder, a little bit of grounding that has Hunter’s panicked eyes on her, and Luz flounders. "Um—she's strong, Hunter. You know her, right? She'll make it, and you'll be there to get her out of this place."
Hunter sucks in a breath, turning back to the courtyard, and he firmly presses his visor back down.
Luz, the poor kid, keeps going. "What would mom say?" She turns to the sky and narrows her gaze at the clouds. "Ay… sometimes clouds have two sides, a dark and light. And a silver lining in between. It's like a silver sandwich. So..." No one is even listening at this point, and Eda’s eye focuses on someone in the crowd of prisoners. "When life seems hard, take a bite out of the silver sandwich."
Eda grins, perking up instantly. "Maybe we have more than we realize here.”
"That's the spirit," Luz cheers. "I can't believe that worked. I didn't even know what I was saying."
Amity pats her shoulder, shaking her head. “Me neither.”
"No, what you said made no sense at all," Eda comments. She points to the prisoners. "But look, it's Raine and the BATTS!"
Right in a corner of the yard, sitting on a rock and staring blankly, is Raine indeed. But before they can make a plan, a bell rings through the yard and a guard announces, "Prisoners, back in your cells!"
They quietly sneak their way into Raine’s cell, with Luz and Hunter standing guard outside, and Eda finds herself staring down the Bard witch, who glares back at her.
"Did I do something wrong?" They ask in a flat tone.
Eda crosses her arms, her helmet still on, so it's no wonder they couldn't recognize her. "You mean you don't recognize me, Rainstorm?"
"You people all—“ They froze, and slowly looked up at Eda like she was their whole world in a person, and in a way, she was.
Eda tugged off her helmet, setting it in the ground softly. "Sorry I took so long."
Raine lights up, a smile stretching their lips as they run to her, and they hug her tightly, and Eda does the same back, cradling the back of their head in her hand. "Eda!"
Outside the cell, Luz and Hunter smile at each other, hearing the reunion, even if it was muffled.
Hunter leaned back against the wall, huffing out a breath. It's good to know Raine is safe. It had been too long without hearing from them, and after fleeing from the coven, he wasn’t sure what had become of them or the BATTS. Speaking of which.
"The BATTS," Eda inquires, "Are they here?"
Their brows crease worriedly. "I only know that they’re here, not what level they’re on. They locked me here because I'm the leader and a Coven's head."
"Well, you won't be here for long. I'm busting you out." Eda embraces them again, and tears begin falling down Raine’s cheeks as they stuffed their face into Eda’s neck. “I’m gonna get you out of here.”
"I know," Raine croaks, trembling as they try staving off their tears, but when Eda pulls back, their cheeks are already wet with them and their lips are pressed tightly together, and Eda can't take it. "I know," They repeat, "I just missed—missed you so much. I thought I was going crazy."
"I'm sorry it took so long," Eda murmurs. Eda cups their face, pressing soft, light kisses to their forehead as her thumbs wipe away their tears, before she starts smacking kisses onto their cheek, first the left and then over the bridge of their nose, kissing lightly on the tip of their nose, and that's when she hears the first snort, and she beams as she pecks kisses to their right cheek as she grabs their nape gently, cradling their head up to meet her gaze. Raine’s eyes are screwed close, and despite the tears, they’re biting a smile on their lips, huffing a laugh lightly as she ends with a final kiss to the smile crease on their cheek, resting there longer and languid, letting it sink into her skin before Eda pulls back, carding fingers gently through the teal hairs at their nape.
"That's better," Eda says, a thumb drifting to run against their smile, and finally, Raine opens their eyes, soft and open, looking some parts embarrassed and some parts gleeful. Slowly, they stand straighter, reaching up the small height between them to press their forehead against hers, and Eda doesn't realize she'd been holding in a breath until it's loose, her heart fluttering wildly in her chest and her stomach turning over with happiness. "You know I'd never leave you here."
"I know, Eda," Raine says – no, breathes against her. "I just needed to see you; that was enough."
"I hate to leave you here longer," Eda says hesitantly. "I still have to come up with the plan.”
Their stomach suddenly growls, loud and awkward, and Raine turns embarrassed, gaze flicking to their feet as they clear their throat. "Sorry about that."
Eda’s heart has hurt a lot in the past, but spirits, why in the hell are they apologizing for being hungry? What did this place do to them? Tamping down on the fury she feels, Eda digs into her clothes and finds a small bundle of beef jerky she was planning on snacking on the way back to the Owl House. She gently pushes it into their hand, smiling at their wide eyes and the way they lick their lips. "I don't know what they're feeding you, but it isn't enough, and you don't have to say sorry for that. When we get back, I'm feeding you until you get sick."
Raine accepts the food gratefully, nodding, suddenly shy. "Thanks, Eda."
“Of course. I’m just glad to have you back.”
Raine smiles softly, which quickly washes away into concern. Their eyes flick to the door where Luz and Hunter are standing, and in a sheepish voice, they ask, "(Y/n). Is she here, too?" When Eda raises a brow, Raine’s face turns more concerned than before. "I mean—I know how much she means to you, and I just wanted to... make sure. That she's okay, that is. You know (Y/n). Can't ever keep her out of trouble, right?" Raine chuckles softy.
Eda holds back a smile. "She's here. Just... not how you'd expect?"
"What do you mean?”
"She's a prisoner here," She says, huffing softly when Raine’s fists clench. "She's been here a few weeks now, and I'm not surprised you didn't know. She's not in the usual cells. She's a powerful witch, y’know?"
"Makes sense," Raine replies, sitting back down on their bed. Pressing their hands to their knees, they look back up determinedly. "They'd want to make sure she can't escape. There hasn't ever been someone like her here before. So, what's the plan?"
"I need to know (Y/n)'s routine first. Then I can make a plan. Stay out of trouble for now—" There's a rapid knock on the door and they both turn to it, realizing it's Hunter and Luz warning them. Eda continues quickly, putting her helmet back on. "When I've made the plan, we'll rendezvous."
Suddenly, there's a commotion outside and Eda is forced to let them go, feeling instantly empty without them in her arms, but they lean up and press a sweet kiss to her cheek and with all the conviction in the world, they whisper, "Get us out of here."
Eda nods. "You got it, Rainstorm."
With that, Eda, Hunter, and Luz leave the cells quietly and lock it back up, just in time for a guard to come down the hall and get into Raine’s cell.
Luz nudges Eda, whispering, "What now?
Eda looks at Hunter and nods. "Now, we get to (Y/n)."
It was tougher than expected to get the lone guard standing by your cell to move away, but with well-timed fire and a couple of fake screams, the guard left her post to run down the hall past them without noticing them in the shadows, and when she was out of sight, Hunter and Luz make quick work of the bolts on the door, swinging them across before yanking the metal door open.
Hunter’s heart constricts at the poor sight that greets him. There's a small fire lamp hooked to the wall as the only source of light other than the light from the hall seeping in through the open doorway. A thin bed in the corner and a toilet, but his eyes catch on the figure on the bed, hands slightly elevated off the bed in what looks like an uncomfortable position, and you slowly rouse from your curled-up state, revealing a mess of hair and bruised arms and legs.
"Wow, two visits in one day. You really know how to make me feel special, Warden," You say, voice strained and reedy.
He can't move. Even as you uncurl and sit up with an almost silent sigh, he's stuck, and all he can manage is his mouth forming around silent words, more stricken as his gaze roams from bruise to bruise splotching your skin, up to your face where your lip is split, and you have bruises around your right eye and cheekbone.
Unsurprisingly, Luz is the first one to enter the cell, and she whips off his visor just as you look up, and enthusiastically, she smiles and waves. "Hey—ACK!"
Luz is slammed into you as you hugged her because the moment you laid your eyes on Luz, you turned hysterically happy, full of joy and relief, and despite being chained by your wrists to the wall, your leg is curled around Luz’s, pinning her to you, and she’s hugging you just as tight.
"What the hell are you doing here?" You breathe out, the faintest of smiles on your lips.
"We came to rescue you," Hunter says. Your head finally whips to him, a shocked little whimper escaping you, and then when you’re focusing on him fully, your eyes begin to tear up. His heart constricts. "(Y/n)—"
"You're here," You breathe. "You're—you're actually here. I thought I had imagined your voice but you—"
Hunter strides forward to bridge the gap between you, but he stops right before you, seeing you up close, and he misses this. He missed waking up and glancing at your sleepy face if he was lucky enough to be up before you. He missed having you curled up near him, just inches from each other. "I'm here," he says, lips finally cracking a smile.
Luz smiles at the two as you slowly stand to see Hunter better, and slowly makes her way out of the cell to give you privacy.
The moment she's out and the door closes on you, you loosen up subtly, just in the way your eyes clear up and you find it easier to smile at Hunter.
But he isn't smiling, and his hand is tightly clutching at a charm – oh. The pretty charm is losing its silver shine along the edges, and he thrusts it at you. "A leaf isn't a proper goodbye." His voice trembles and you find yourself holding your breath as Hunter crosses the distance between you, placing the charm back in his pocket. "And if you ever do that again, I will be so angry at you – and I will be upset, and-and I will make sure you never get to pet Rascal – and..."
Hunter falters when he realizes he doesn't have any legitimate threats, but mostly because you’re smiling at him – a little lovingly, a little brokenly, but his heart thunders in his chest and he can't come up with anything more than: "A charm isn't a proper goodbye..."
You nod softly, finally realizing just how torn up he was about this. "Okay. I'm sorry. I didn't – I wasn't thinking and oh—!" You find yourself in Hunter’s arms, tightly wound around you and squeezing you as if you’d slip out of his grasp. Hunter knows how slippery you really are. Pressing his nose to your neck, Hunter sighs like the happiest guy in the world.
"Hug me back," He whines when you remain stiff and frozen, but then you’re laughing softly, pressing into his arms, and burrowing yourself into his chest, breathing in deeply as your hands hook around his neck. You melt into it like hot wax from a candle, and a shuddery breath leaves you, puffing against his neck.
The next thing he hears is a sniff, small and near silent, but he doesn't mistake the sudden wet drops landing on his shoulder. Hunter’s grip tightens, a shaky breath leaving him. "I'm gonna get you outta here."
"I know," You croak out, shaking as you try wiping off your tears, but when he pulls back, your cheeks are already wet with them and your lips are pressed tightly together, and Hunter can't take it. "I know," You repeat, "I just missed—missed you so so much. I thought I was going insane."
“Sorry I took so long.” He gives you a stiff, tight-lipped smile that quickly turns soft and fond. He slowly raises his hand and places it on your cheek, leans down and presses your foreheads together.
Hunter feels his heart warm and stomach flutter, and he finally releases the breath he had been holding in since the moment you had been taken away from them. From him.
A frantic pounding on the door from Luz breaks you out of the intimate moment, and Hunter winks at you silently before slipping out of the door, his middle finger gently tracing your palm and up your pointer finger before completely leaving it.
You felt cold without Hunter here, but the emotional warmth of the moment was still there. It seemed as if he had completely blocked out that moment many nights ago, because if you knew Hunter, and you do, that’s exactly what he’d be doing.
You needed to talk to him about this, but for now, you had to wait until you could escape from this wretched place. And that fucking Warden Wrath.
Speaking of which…
“Hello, little witch. Let’s see if you’ll talk today.”
God, what a fucking nightmare.
Well, you successfully escaped from the Boiling Rock, and back to the Owl House. King and Hooty were absolutely ecstatic to see you, the latter not as aware of your injuries, but once he was, he throughly apologized.
You were helped into your room by Eda and Lilith, and the first got you fresh clothes and you changed into them before Lilith began healing your injuries. Once finished, you thanked her on her way out, and Hunter’s way in.
You pushed yourself up eagerly, but the emotional distance seemed to be ever so present once again. A pit formed in your stomach, and you pulled your knees to your chest.
Hunter inched his way over to the chair beside your bed, shakily sitting down and staring at your curled figure for a moment.
“So, can we talk?” He asked gently, elbows resting on his knees as he leaned forward. Your face slowly turned to him, giving him that nervous, doe eyed gaze and god, this was harder than he thought. You nodded. “About… that night. I-“
“It’s alright, Hunter. You don’t need to explain yourself.” You huffed, waving your hand at him as a sad dismissal of the events several weeks ago. “I know you don’t— you wouldn’t feel the same about me anyways.”
Hunter spluttered, taken aback by your words.
How… How could he not feel the same? You’re just absolutely… magnificent in his eyes. Always giving, putting others needs before your own, greeting (mostly) everyone you crossed with with a smile.
You were playful with Luz and King, encouraging of Amity’s ass kicking, caring towards Eda, and with him? Oh, you were so patient and gentle towards him, even after all he had done to your friends and family. Sure you were understandably cold at times, who wouldn’t be, but you were the first one (along with Luz) who really sat down and listened to his story.
And now that you two were close and more comfortable, he just found himself falling for you more and more.
“I don’t feel— Ugh, okay. Fine.” Hunter stood, placing a hand on his chin as he closed the door, and began pacing in front of you. “If I didn’t feel the same, why would I even lean in that night? W-Why would I be so adamant about getting you back here? I didn’t sleep for days after you were captured, (Y/n)!” Hunter’s eyes were filled to the brim with tears as the feelings resurfaced, and he tried to swallow it down.
“Neither did the others! You’re acting like I’m only important to you.” You retorted, placing an arm on the bed and leaning on it. “Eda already told me all this. Plus, you only see me as a friend, don’t you? So, you leaning in was a mistake. There.” You crossed your arms, looking out the window on the other side of the bed, the side Hunter wasn’t standing on. “Why do you even care so much?”
“Because I love you, okay?!” Hunter shouted.
And then the room fell silent.
He knew the others probably heard it; you knew the others definitely heard that, but your bright pink cheeks didn’t make it any better.
“I love you, (Y/n). I-I know that’s not enough, but I do.” Hunter said softly, tears quietly streaming down his cheeks, to his chin, and then dropping onto your floor. You released a shaky breath, and slowly shifted yourself back in his direction, legs dangling over the edge of the bed. “There’s nothing I wouldn't do to keep you safe. I need you to live... cause if you're gone then, I don't know what the point of it all is anymore. You make me feel safe. Like I’m allowed to be anything I want, and I’ve never had that before. So, why do you walk around as if you're somehow less valuable than the rest of the world?”
You stood, bed squeaking as you stood, wobbling around on your now steady legs, and looked up at Hunter, who was a few inches away from you.
“Because my parents abandoned me.” You whispered, reaching out and grabbing Hunter’s hand, softly fidgeting with his fingers. “I don’t know, I shouldn’t think too much into it. But the people who were supposed to raise you dumping you onto somebody else like you’re a burden and then disappearing kind of hurts your self esteem.”
Hunter’s lips tightened into a line, and he gently squeezed your hand. “I’m so sorry that happened to you, but…” He clasped your hand tighter, and pressed to his chest. The steady beating of his heart lulled you into a calm feeling, and you lowered your walls, smiling softly at him. “I’m not leaving. I won’t leave you. I promise.”
“That’s a pretty big promise, Hunter.” You whispered, brows furrowed doubtfully.
“Not for me.” He replied, his other hand raising to cup your cheek, caressing underneath your eye.
You swallowed thickly, and almost unconsciously, you asked in the smallest whisper, “Can I kiss you?”
Hunter’s eyes widened, but then he was slowly nodding, and your hands were making their way to his face, and pulling his lips onto yours.
It was long and tender, and filled with many promises, and for once in your life, you knew you’d be okay.
