Since I was small, I was always chaotic. I was hard to rangle, my mind was a mess, and I refused to eat anything that wasn't a lemon for a whole month. But let's get something straight, I'm not. And my childhood should've been a warning to my parents that they won't be getting all completely cishet children. And while we're on the topic of children, one thing I've known since I was small, was I wanted to have kids.
I also moved around alot growing up, and at one house my family lived in, we finally had a playroom that was autism friendly. By that, I mean, I would actually willingly play in it and NOT climb very wall in sight. This playroom had a big window. This window went all across the back wall. It also had access to the roof.
Why is that important? Well, let me tell you a story about dolly.
When I was 1, my mum took me to a restored toy shop. I ran as far as I could on my lil' child safety harness. (Not that far, maybe 1 metre) AND THEN. I laid my eyes on it. The most beautiful little rag doll there was. Pink woollen hair, pink dress, she was beautiful. So of course, I wanted the doll. So mum bought me the rag doll I later named dolly.
We lived in this house when I was 6 until I was 7 1/2.
My parents had gotten used to the fact that, if left unsupervised for even 1 second, I would probably set the house on fire. (I did accidentally set the kitchen on fire at one point.) So they would look around every five mins as I got older to make sure where ever I was, I wasn't dead. It had gotten to the point where they would look thru windows to make sure I was fine.
Dolly was a very beloved doll, so beloved, infact, I would refuse to let her go. It's crazy because now I'm terrified of dolls. I would actually claim to be 'practicing for motherhood'
Well, my maternal instincts where around, even then, let me tell ya.
Because whenever we played sardines as a family, that was a common hiding spot dad would choose.
And so, one day, I was playing by myself. I noticed the window was open, to I decided to show dolly a bird's eye view of our back yard, which my dad was in, mowing the lawn.
I dropped dolly. Out the window. Onto the roof. Now usually, if I dropped something out the window, I'd go running to wonderful big sis M to get it for me. But this was no "usually" moment. This was a life or death situation.
Now let's change the point of view for a second. Imagine you are one Mr. *Last name* you're mowing you backyard, your wife's making your children some food, it's a regular Saturday, and you turn to check the windows to make sure that your autistic, ADHD having, sense if personal safety lacking 6-year-old isn't about to jump out a window, and see them trying to do exactly that.
I only had my forearm and below my knee on my leg inside the window.
And you know that scene from 'modern family' where Cam is running after lily shouting "Lily!, LIly!, LILY!!" That was my dad, but shouting my name instead.
And to make things worse, the neighbors walked into their yard, and it did NIT look like he was trying to pull me inside AT ALL.

rated TEEN, established relationship, injury mention, stiles POV.
After a fight, once pack-affirming rituals at the loft are over, Derek insists on taking Stiles to bed—no matter the time of day or night.
Derek cannot abide the thought of Stiles being hurt. If his wolf so much as scents lingering fear, or, God forbid, Stiles is somehow injured, Derek scrambles, desperate to coddle his mate. Stiles always indulges him, obviously, knowing he'd never win the I'm fine battle.
So, Derek undresses Stiles, slowly, while checking for cuts and bruises. He'll smooth big hands over pale skin and quietly growl his solace.
Stiles actually completely loves him for it.
