“Show Don’t Tell” is important to prove who your character is. Camera tricks can further add to that. In this video, I break down how a simple camera trick can be used for characters who are lonely, an outcast or an observer
The poster for Jordan Peele's new film Nope looks exactly how 2020 felt.
what do i want from life? it's very simple. a large kitchen
I nominate Disturbia by Rihanna as the next song for Jordan Peele to use in a trailer
Can’t wait for this new Jordan Peele movie to come out! I’m ready for:
-(yt)McCritics churning out think pieces about plot holes in the movie that actually aren’t plot holes, while blatantly ignoring the ACTUAL plot holes because those require deeper thought and a knowledge of Black culture they don’t have.
-People praising the cultural and social commentary one day, and then mocking people who “read too much into it, it’s just a movie omg so cringe”
-Black people specifically bemoaning the fact that there’s social commentary in the movie, no matter to what extent that commentary exists, how it’s expressed, or what it’s overall message is.
-Everyone acting like Jordan Peele invented socially critical horror stories.
-Demands for a sequel to what is very clearly a stand-alone story. (I may have been guilty of this one a couple of times...)
-The Oscars and all the shenanigans that will ensue
-The song. You know what I mean. I don’t care if it’s a new song or a remix, I just want to hear it.
-News articles about how there’s a black horror rennaissance...that completely ignores small-time creators for people that already have movie deals with major studios.
-Having to re-analyze my personal Top Ten Black Movies list.
-People thirsting over actors from Black Panther. (again, I may have been guilty of this...)
Universal Pictures Announces Mysterious New Movie 'Nope' From Jordan Peele. Visit the 'Nope' Wiki Page - Details of the New Terror from Academy Award Winner Jordan Peele is being kept under wraps for now. With some sequences of the film being shot on IMAX cameras, it's safe to assume that the imagery will be on a grand scale. The film stars Daniel Kaluuya who is reprising his role of W'Kabi in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be released a few weeks before 'Nope' Summer 2022.
Ohhh ok Mr. peele, you just gonna keep us in suspense till next July…So thoughtful of you.
In the several years since Jordan Peele released his second directorial effort, the twisty and wicked Us, the marketplace has been inundated with more than a few imitators of Peele’s unique blend of socially conscious horror and seemingly contradictory bleak humor—essentially inserted nervous laughter. Yet even after multiple other films and projects on that wavelength, no one has been able to replicate the unique blend which won Peele on a Oscar for the screenplay of his first movie, Get Out, and which made Us one of only a handful of original 2019 efforts to be among the highest grossing of that year.
So news about his third movie was exciting even before we knew anything about it beyond its cast, which includes Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun. But now we at least know the title: Nope...
