We’d love to fill all of our fic tags with more fics, so we’re highlighting a different tag each week and asking for your recommendations! You can still submit any Juke fics at any time; these are basically just prompts for some of the tags that we think need a little more love on our blog.
This week’s tag: POV Outsider

Got a Discord DM for this Tumblr Jukebox fill, but wanted to share it here anyway just in case anyone was interested! The lovely Muccamukk requested some Ted/Beard. The song I landed on for her was The Avett Brothers’, “True Sadness,” which was just so apropros for some Ted Lasso feels. There are spoilers for season 2 in this fic, so if you’re not caught up it may be best to avoid it. Here’s a spoiler-free snippet, for those of you who might enjoy it:
Without a word, Beard unscrewed the cap and availed himself of a long, slow swig. When he was finished, he dropped the bottle down to rest against his thigh and exhaled a controlled breath through the astringent burn of alcohol sparking its way down his throat.
He looked back over at Ted and held the bottle out. After a second, one side of Ted’s mouth quirked and he reached across the cushions to take it back, his fingers curling over Beard’s for just a second as he did so.
“Well, I s’pose that’s one way to do it,” he murmured with a smirk, and took a pull of his own, not quite as excessive. He wrinkled his nose and bared his teeth, hissing out a breath, then proffered the bottle in Beard’s direction again. Beard shook his head and held up a hand, palm out. Ted shrugged, took one more sip, and sighed a little, “Wow!” before twisting the cap half-heartedly back into place and tucking the bottle down into the crack in the cushions between them so it wouldn’t spill.
“That stuff’s got quite a kick to it,” he observed, leaning back against the cushions and tipping his head toward the bottle while he folded his hands over his stomach.
“Whisky, Coach,” Beard offered by way of explanation, using a shallow shrug to punctuate his point.

The mad hatter by Mad Maddy and Anthony Tremaine
Mad Maddy: Well Hello, there, it's me
With how it's gonna be,
Anthony (to Audrey): Settle down and listen up good.
The old Hatter is gone
But the Hat must go on
Maddy: Worn by me, is that understood?
So shut up and tow the line,
While I redefine
How this all will be mine.
Anthony: She’s have a dream,
It’s got a full head of steam!
Maddy: What is true what is not
Can both change in a shot
And people, me,
I couldn't care less.
'Cause in two seconds flat
Livin' under my hat
Is the strategy for success.
I will look the other way
When you want to play
Something more than croquet.
You catch my drift?
Anthony: Her little personal gift!
Maddy: I’m the Mad Hatter
Come and follow me, this is it.
The Mad Hatter,
All you gotta do is submit.
Anthony (to Maddy): And if we don't my friend?
Maddy: Well then in the end,
There'll be nothing left to defend.
Anthony (to Audrey): Know what I mean?
Maddy (not listening to what the other two are saying): When you are facing the Queen.
Everyone gets a taste,
And a brand new leather hat band.
Anthony: give me that hat?
Maddy: But to participate,
Let me reiterate
You must first put me in command.
I'm the wonder, understand,
Put the reigns in my hand.
Anthony (to Maddy): I'll do the rest,
As soon as you’ve acquiesced!
Maddy: I'm the Mad Hatter
Offering a little bit more.
The Mad Hatter,
Giving you what you're looking for.
I am your best worst case
For the choice you face,
And the fastest rat in the race!
It’s me or the queen
And her serene guillotine.
(Anthony approaches Maddy and pulls her close)
Anthony: There is nothing you won't do?
Maddy: There is nothing too taboo.
Anthony: will you lie?
Anthony: will you cheat?
Anthony: will you track them down
And then hit delete tout suite?
Maddy (looking like she might pass out from happiness): YES M!
Anthony: So sweet I’ll let you repeat...
(He kisses her which makes her hat fall off. He then hands the hat to Audrey who hides it behind her back. All with Maddy being none the wiser)
Maddy: I'm the Mad Hatter,
Anthony: Lend allegiance while you still can,
Maddy: The Mad Hatter
Anthony (to Audrey): More than just a “Hat” with a plan.
We are where she belongs,
The right kind of wrong,
And she’ll still be going real strong!
(He makes a break for it with Audrey in tow. All with Maddy still dancing about and having no idea what’s just happened)
The bottom line
Maddy: Is everything will be fine.
As all the planets align,
It's gonna be so divine.
When all of this will be MINE!!

Buongiornissimo Rebels 💫 iniziamo la settimana col botto con la Jukebox Monday random del mio Spotify e la mia obsession for Billy Idol 🤩
Ieri giornata tv super impegnativa!
Per me, PROMOSSO!
Stay Positive! 🧘🏻♀️🦸🏻♀️
Late Night (Online) Study Sessions Pandemic AU
It’s a quarter past eleven and Julie is laying on her side, her laptop propped open in front of her. On her screen, Luke is attempting to study for an exam.
He throws down his pen and grabs his head. “Fuck, I’m just shit at this.”
Julie lowers her phone and pauses her Netflix, which has been playing quietly in the background. She sits up and pulls her laptop into her lap.
She offers Luke a sympathetic smile. “You’re not,” she says quietly.
The rest of the house is sleeping. Since school had resumed and Ray was able to start doing socially distanced photography work again, everybody was coming home exhausted. They weren’t used to this anymore.
But returning to school hadn't been easy. It'd been great seeing Flynn in person again, they'd had a brief, desperately needed hug when nobody was looking, but the masks in the classrooms and one-way hallways reminded them that this nightmare was far from over.
Luke drags a hand down his face. "I don't think I can do this."
His eyes are rimmed with tired, red flesh and his cheeks are sunken. He's been attempting to study at home for the past week, since his class was quarantined when a student tested positive.
Over the course of the week, Julie has learned a lot about Luke's study style, mostly in that he doesn't really seem to have one.
He rubs his head, the balls of his palms massaging his temples. "Fucking hell," he mutters, crunched over his desk, his face tipped forward, hidden from her.
Julie feels for him, knows the pain of being unable to focus. She sits up, puts the laptop in front of her, and crosses her legs. "Okay, sit up, we're gonna do some stretches."
Luke looks up at her through defeated, half-lidded eyes. His lips twitch and he sucks them into his mouth. His gaze falls away again and he shakes his head.
Julie decides to ignore him.
"Okay, lets start by stretching our neck," she says, tying her hair off her face and tilting her head to the side. "Drop your head to the side and take a deep breathe."
She closes her eyes and inhales a lungful, holds for a moment, then releases. She does it a couple of times before she hears the sound of Luke's breath exhaling over the speaker.
She cracks an eye open and finds him following her movements. A small, victorious smile appears on her face and she closes them again. She tilts her head in the other direction. "Okay, other side..."
She walks Luke through as many neck, shoulders, and back exercises as she can while their sitting, before shoving the laptop back and slipping out of her duvet cocoon. "Come on, Patterson, on your feet."
Luke made a show of rolling his eyes and huffing, but when it came to it, he slid his chair back and got up on his feet. They stretched their legs, their sides, their backs, and eventually,
"Okay, now drop forward. We're just gonna hang here for a bit."
Both remained with their feet apart and legs straight with their upper body's tipped forward, arms hanging down by their knees. Julie takes a couple breaths, feeling her head begin to swim with it. She closes her eyes.
"I think it would've been cool to go to your school," Luke mutters from his position. Julie opens her eyes, but remains staring at her knees.
Somehow, Luke incorporates a shrug into his stretch. "Nah, just that, like, going to a school with a music and dance programs?" He sucks on his teeth. "I might actually be able to nail an A for the first time in my life."
"You've never gotten an A before? In anything?"
Luke is silent for a moment.
"Nah, I'm not really cut out for all this kinda stuff."
Julie frowns and brings herself back up. "Really?" she asks, returning to sit on her bed.
Luke draws himself up, too, and drops back into his chair. He picks up his pencil from the desk and begins twirling it in his fingers. He purses his lips, his brow taut and covering his eyes.
He tips his head back and sighs. "I like learning, right? I love finding new songs and learning the chords and stuff, but, like..." He slouches forward again. "I can do muscle memory. I just can't do..." he jabs the rubber end of the pencil to his temple. "This stuff. I'm just... too dumb."
Julie frowns and shakes her head. She grabs the laptop, holding the screen between her hands. "Luke, don't talk about yourself that way. You're not dumb."
Luke's eyes shift to roll and Julie raises her eyebrows. "You're not."
Scolded, he looks up at her again. "Then why is this stuff so easy for everybody else and so impossible for me?"
Julie hates that she doesn't have an adequate answer.
She could tell him that he's the most talented and natural-born musician she's ever met.
She could tell him that he somehow managed to bring her back to life even after all everything this year, that he'd brought music back into her life after she thought she'd given in a final farewell. She could tell him that standardised testing is an unfair system favouring one style of learner, that it was possible for him to learn and memorise this stuff, but nobody had shown him how to - not in a way that works for him.
She could tell him that it didn't matter.
That it just didn't matter what his report card said, that it didn't detract from the wonderful, kind-hearted, passionate person she had come to know him as.
But she knows none of that would sink in.
Instead she just smiles and says, "Talk me through it. Let's work it out together."
can someone draw a parallel of when julie comes downstairs and sees like looking in the fridge and she goes “i’m never going to get used to that” and then later she’s coming down the stairs and sees like staring at the fridge and she doesn’t flinch and just walks up and gives him a kiss on the cheek and continue on w what she’s doing (ft. luke’s face being entirely red)
