lin and tenzin: [spinning calmly while talking]
kya and bumi: [flying past them, spinning as fast as they can, screaming]
Kyalin buuuuuuut instead of Lin being the one who runs from the relationship, it’s Kya.
For whatever reason, she doesn’t think the relationship between them will work. And on the flip side, Lin is like fuck it, finally able to let go of whatever has been holding her back and is like I want you. You and only you.
Winters with the Water Tribe - Part 2
Ok hear me out... these two are the same character
(For those of you who may not remember the dude on the left was the kid that Aiwei incriminated in Zaofu in TLOK season 3)
So I wrote something. Nothing good nor impressive, but fun.
The floor was freezing. She supposed she should have expected as much from Republic City’s most notorious waterbender, who specialized in turning any of her victims into ice before they could blink. She shouldn’t have been surprised, but she was.
She stumped her foot as carefully as she could muster and was met with a heartbeat she knew all too well. The other thing she noticed was the four officers she had stationed around the building. One stood in front of the main entrance to the apartment complex, two on the roof, and the last one down the hall observing her. His task was to take her place behind the door when she had entered and listen. Not the most foolproof plan, but it was last minute, and they were the only officers she could spare. They were reinforcement, she supposed. Even though she knew they wouldn’t be able to help much.
Lin took a heavy breath before knocking on the door.
A singsong voice called for her to enter. So, she did.
The apartment was almost pitch black. Except for a sweet-smelling candle standing on the dining table. She could see the outline of someone moving around in the kitchen as she closed the door behind her.
“Ah! Lin, there you are. Took you long enough. Come sit down!” Kya was rummaging through the cupboards for something. “I was just about to make some tea. Which one would you like? I’ve got jasmine, ginger and lychee.” Kya kept pulling out different boxes whilst Lin slowly made her way towards the table. “Or maybe you want some black tea? No, no you’ve never been a big fan of black tea. That was Tenzin’s favorite...” She mumbled to herself as Lin took a seat.
“Tell me,” Lin started, wanting Kya to focus on something else other than her teamaking, to no awail. She walked over to where she had put down the teapot and moved over to the sink. Lin watched her sway around as if she were listening to a tune in her head. “Why did you wish to speak to me?” Lin continued.
“Can’t I just wish to speak to a childhood friend of mine when I feel like it? Kya teased back as she heated the water.
“No. Not really.” Kya looked behind her shoulder and met Lin’s eyes. Even in the darkness of the kitchen Lin could see them glisten.
“Huh, I see you still keep to your strict no-fun-allowed-Beifong-attitude.” Kya teased, but Lin sensed the undertones of irritation. The leaves were done steeping, and Kya poured the lychee in a cup for each of them. She waltzed over to the table where Lin was seated and places one cup in front of her and sat down across from Lin with her own. Lin looked suspiciously down at her cup with her arms crossed. “What?” Kya questioned. She was more visible in the candlelight. The soft candlelight made her skin glow.
“What’s to say you didn’t do something to my tea?” Lin asked. Kya could only give a genuine sigh at Lin’s reluctancy. Kya didn’t say anything as she reached her hand over to lift the other woman’s teacup. She brought the drink over to her mouth and took a generous sip and swallowed. Never looking away from Lin. She kept the eye contact as she put Lin’s cup back to its original place.
“Ye a little faith there, Chief.” Kya almost snarled out. “If I wanted to kill you, I would’ve done so a while ago.” She leaned back in her chair with another sigh and took a sip of her own drink. Lin couldn’t remember a time where Kya seemed more tired than herself. “And by the looks of your entourage I could assume you were looking to have me arrested, but you didn’t see me treating you any differently.”
Lin stiffened. Had they been that obvious? How could Kya have known she wasn’t alone?
“I mean, call me old-fashioned, but isn’t it a bit rude to invited people to someone else’s house without asking the owner first?” Kya smirked over her teacup. Her tiredness suddenly evaporated.
“You don’t own this house.” Lin began. Kya only gave her a shrug as acknowledgement. “And how did- “
“Please.” Kya cut her off. She rested one forearm on the table as she continued. “You have your cute little foot trick for surveillance, and I have my own methods. It’s not like you’re the only one who can sense people around them.”
“Now,” Kya continued. “If I’m not mistaken, I believe I asked to see you alone and I would very much prefer it that way. So either you call of your goons or we’ll reschedule for another time you don’t have to babysit.” Lin wanted to squirm under her gaze. Kya bore a hint of a challenge in her eyes, but Lin knew she didn’t want to fight her now. The waterbender would win if Lin decided to do something as stupid as to trying arrest her now. Kya hadn’t lied when she said that she would’ve killed her before if she wanted to. Lin had seen the crime scenes she left behind.
As a sign of alliance, she picked up her tea and sipped. Kya gave her a crooked smile. “Officer!” She yelled out. They were still looking at each other when the officer, she believed his name was Wang Lei, replied. “Get everyone back to the station. I will handle it from here.” He didn’t dare to defy her, and she could feel him run towards the elevator. He would undoubtedly get the other metalbenders away from here, just like Kya had wished for her to do.
A few moments passed over them. Neither trying to breach the silence that had followed. Lin noticed Kya was studying her.
“Ah, finally. I have you all to myself.” Kya smirked.
Kya: Can you do me a favour?
Lin: I would litteraly cover up a murder you committed, Plant my DNA at the crime scene and take the blame for you.
Kya: Can you do the dishes?
The first 2 Zaofu episodes are basically 30 minutes of people being jerks to Lin despite having no idea why she is mad (because Su talks about everything exept the part where she scarred Lin for life and suffered zero consequences because their mom didnt want to ruin the family name); 5 minutes of the coolest fight ever between Kya and Zaheer; 5 minutes of soft soft Lin drinking kale juice and smiling making me whole again.
Me: *has at least two decent WIPs that I just need to finish the last few paragraphs*
My brain: what if..... Soulmates AUs? 👀
Me: NO I don't have the time for a longer piece.
My brain: okok but what if you just take a peek at the dialogue prompts? Kyalin cuddles?!
My brain: Look! This can be them cooking together!
My brain: Bumi and Kya being siblings!
Me: .........fine I'll do a little drabble
My brain: *goes blank when drive opens*
Me: DAMMIT BRAIN
i wrote smth dumb but it was a lot of fun so-
Lin *after training in a sports bra*: oh, hi Kya, what's up?
Kya: 😳 my blood pressure
On the nights when Kya doesn’t get home until really late, Lin tries to stay up for her. The police chief ultimately ends up failing and falling asleep on the couch, but Kya is always touched by Lin’s attempts.
Since season 2 of TLOK gets a lot of hate (and i do agree that its probably the worst season of the whole avatar franchise) i decided to make a list of things that i like about it because yay positive attitude :)
1. BABY KORRA, she is very very cute and chubby and you cannot not love her;
2. The whole Avatar Wan story was dope;
3. TONRAQ IS A BUFF DILF;
4. We get to see again our collective father figure UNCLE IROH <3;
5. Blessed be the goddess of milfs because we get introduced to KYA and we have to treasure this season because its the season in which we get the most of her (even tho those fight scenes in season 3 live in my heart rent free);
6. Both Ikki and Jinora get a lot of personality and we get to see more the dynamics of their family... we will have to wait until season 4 for Meelo to become somewhat interesting but i love him anyways and yes it is solely for the "that lady is my hero" scene;
7. We get this frame
and there are very little words to describe how much i love it;
8. We get introduced to VARRICK, who turns out to be so much more than the stereotypical rich genius that I was expecting him to be, you have to love him and if you dont shame on you;
9. Haters will say that they never met on screen but jokes on them
10. We get the "you should have seen air temple island when tenzin broke up with me" scene and that is priceless;
11. This cute face
12. This other cute face
13. We find out what actually happened to ZHAO after ATLA season one and that's also dope.
Hope you enjoyed my positive attitude <3
“Wow, you are beautiful. Who were you again? Lee? Baefong?”
After her head injury, Kya accidentally gets high and recalls the huge childhood crush she had on the ballerina Yuen Mino. This memory opens the road to other recollections, like the day she scraped off the beautiful dancer from her heart and buried the internalized disgust she felt about herself deep into her consciousness.
chapter 2 just posted! It's just pure 2k kyalin smut in there 🥴🥴
If you act like a good girl, I'll fuck you with a strap once we're home. Do we have a deal? Kya's words from earlier rang in Lin's head as she kissed the waterbender back. Her hand wandered through Kya's hair as she steadied herself on her elbows, leading the bruising kiss.
