You know...I was listening to my center piece playlist and what I realized hm hm. Classics was never the issue? I didn't lose interest, I didn't stop loving it, I didn't stop studying it? I did however stop writing, I actually started hating writing because it was triggering, I never attended any of the conferences or webinars I signed up for because it would remind me how I could never write something worth presenting. I just. Became very terrified of classics academically, I mean maybe I blew it out of proportions but imagine no one believing a word you say because you're a master's student so it has to be the imposter syndrome because you deserve to be here and you're smart enough to be here and because you know it's not, you know what imposter syndrome is like and this is not it, this is something completely different and so you start doubting yourself because that's how the equation goes doesn't it? You're smart enough so you're here and now you feel like a fraud. The equation never made sense for you: you have not once felt like a fraud, infact you feel like you deserve to be there just as much as the kid who's the teacher's pet and the funniest person you've ever come across because you love this and you've worked hard to be there infact you feel like you should have been here ages ago but you also feel like you don't know how to do this and you want to know how to do this because no one ever taught you and because you want to be here it was never about deserving you love this and you want to be here the world can set itself to fire but you will not go away and you're smart enough to know this once you're taught but you never are and everyone is always dismissing you because you hate yourself so how is this not a symptom of your self deprecation but a real actual problem and now you're just scared that this is something you absolutely cannot do no matter what and so this becomes the root of all your anxiety and before you know it you submit an unfinished dissertation and you fail your master's and your supervisor tells you to pick a different subject and no one ever talks about this and you take eight months to get comfortable with yourself again but like. The subject was never the problem and you were never the problem. There was a piece missing and you knew it was missing and you couldn't find it in time because everyone was so convinced there is nothing missing and how could you not believe them and by the time you became okay with the sea wreck of your mind and the people around the world was already down in ashes and now you're here
