Life Drawing - 22nd Oct, 2020
Had an awesome life drawing session. Might post more later.
27/10/20 For this lesson we worked on composition. This was a very enjoyable lesson as we got to draw various scenes in foyer. I drew three pictures, one of a chimney outside, one of the door leading into the foyer and one of the small corridor leading to the lecture theatre. We then had to choose one of our drawings and recreate it with a different composition so I chose the corridor and changed it to one point perspective (bottom left). I learned that when doing one point perspective it’s good to have central focus in the image so I added details to the three paintings.
20/10/20 For this life drawing session we focused on perspective. We started off with some basic exercises to understand one-point, two-point and three-point perspective, then we moved on to drawing shapes such as triangles and more complex ones like octagons keeping three-point perspective in mind. This was quite a tricky task to do as some shapes were very difficult to draw with perspective lines, but it taught me a lot about three-point perspective.
Inktober life drawing done! :D All 31 drawings (actually 1 extra) complete (even a little early).
Always knew I needed to do more life drawing but I’d always put it off, or start for a couple of days, then stop. Glad I stuck to it this time and tried out some different techniques :>
Also why didn’t I introduce toned paper into my life earlier ashdlk
Also massive thank you to Croquis Cafe for their recorded life drawing sessions.

A piece of animation created for Dublin Life Drawing to promote a training day for art models. It was awe-inspiring to watch these women blossom into their confidence and take control of the podium in their own unique way. Hugely rewarding experience.
