"My grandmother was the Queen of Hyrule: wise, clever, determined, always elegant and regal. But to me, she was my dear Grandma Viridi, who told me bedtime stories, had always a cinnamon roll saved for me, and who told me to never let my fate define me and never give up on the things I want.
Well, she also told me you can never go wrong with a bold red lip and nails combo, because it helps to give the best first impression." - Zelda, on her grandmother, Queen Zelda VI, born Viridiana Zelda.
@linktober day twenty-seven: Zelda.
Finally, some catching up! I took my time with this one to get the expressions and poses right. I wanted so much to draw little Zelda and her Grandma!
Thanks for your patience despite me being away for so long. It's been some weird times lately for me.
Link: 'You wanna talk about stress? You wanna talk about stress?! OK! I've stumbled onto a major ancient conspiracy, Zeld--how 'bout that for stress?'
Zelda: 'What in Lorule are you talking about?'
Link: 'This country is being bled like a stuck bokoblin, Zeld, and I've got a paper trail to prove it. Check this out. Take a look at this.'
Zelda: 'Holy Hylia, Link!'
Link: 'That right there is the Rito. Now let's talk about the Zora. Can we talk about the Zora, please, Zeld? I've been dying to talk about the Zora with you all day, OK? "The Rito evolved from the Zora" this keeps coming up over and over again. Every book in the castle library is saying that to me. Zora=Rito! Zora=Rito! I look at the Zora historical tablets, and this whole box is Zora=Rito! So I say to myself, "I gotta find Jiahto! I gotta go up to the domain and put these slabs in the guy's goddamn hands! Otherwise, he's never going to get it and he's going to keep leaving out where the Zora reappeared from." So I go up to Jiahto's office and what do I find out, Zeld? What do I find out?! There is no Zora to Rito evolution. The chain does not exist, okay? So I decide, "Oh shit, buddy, I gotta dig a little deeper." There's no Zora=Rito? You gotta be kidding me! I got boxes full of Zora=Rito! All right. So I start marchin' my way over to Kaneli in RV and I knock on his door and I say, "Kaneli! Kaneli! I gotta talk to you about the Zora." And when I open the door what do I find? There's not a single goddamn bird in that roost! There...is...no...Kaneli in RV. Zeld, half the species in this country have been made up. This land is a goddamn ghost town.'
I just wanted a place to quickly look back at my older stuff, so I’m going to just keep this around as a way to say “awwww look how bad that was last year!” I’m putting stars near my favorite 😂 I regret nothing
While guarding the entrance of the spring of courage, Link was surprised by a flash of lighting that suddenly lit all the ancient ruins and and gave the night sky a fluorescent glow. The light took the shape of a majestic dragon that soared above him, then descending to come close. Mesmerized by it, he only rose his hand as if he were to touch the beast's nuzzle.
Without him even knowing, he fell struck by lightning, Farosh bestowing upon Link the gift only some Gerudo - and exceptionally the Hero of the Wild - had possesed: the power to invoke the fury of thunder and lightning.
@linktober day twenty-two and thirty: dragon+ruins.
I actually bothered to scan this one (it was so washed out in pictures like wow it was bad)
The Guchini Barrows is where I first saw those dark slabs you can float/stasis-launch, but they don’t match the barrows. At all. So.
Once there was a fierce people, renowned for their strength in battle and great works, allies to the clever sheikah empire. But strong as they’re were, resourceful and tenacious and bold, there were some things they could only bury, and hope stayed buried. Later people’s tried to help keep them down, but… These days the barrows are empty.
