probably a shocking news but maybe south has a dark impulse as well. this could be what kakucho was trying to deliver in the last chapter that south was “loved by violence.” that means it’s the same to mikey.
dark impulsivity has always been a crucial topic among tokyo revengers fans, and now with south who most probably has it, this must be a thing to look way deeper into. trauma experience? it’s already one of them.

Returned to my thoughts about sacrificing the Dark Triad being part of the Ritual of Qliphoth, and how that might mean the fourth Zogratis might appear.
Like you take blood, body, and bone magic and feed it into the ritual in addition to gravity, space, and curses, so it’d make sense that some kind of soul and time magic might result.
We also know that Nacht said the real goal here besides saving Yami and Vangeance is to keep Luciferio from setting foot in the living world. Which is interesting because he was assigned to Dante, who would have to die if the sacrifice is part of the ritual itself. Which again makes me wonder if Satan isn’t actually the mythological figure that shouldn’t set foot in the living world, and is the devil associated with the fourth Zogratis. This post over here got me thinking about Dante’s Inferno where Satan is at the center of the earth. He also has three faces. Now in Inferno, Satan and Lucifer are the same entity, though sometimes they are separate creatures of similar backstory, much like how Crowley and Satan are different characters in Good Omens even though Satan is thought to be the snake in the Garden of Eden depending on who you ask. So really there are no hard and fast rules here regarding Satan, Lucifer, and other figures like Dis or Hel you might want to throw into the mix.
I mean Nacht did say Luciferio, and that indeed could be correct, but Nacht is also going on the information he was able to gather in the shadows of the Spade Kingdom, and I’m curious if the Dark Triad are truly intentional sacrifices of the ritual if the Dark Triad even knew they were sacrifices of the ritual because I don’t think they knew that. I mean if the oldest Zogratis’ goal was to be the devil standing at the end of the ritual, I could see how he could manipulate his siblings into taking on Luciferio, Megicula, and Beelzebub. He would just have to appeal to Dante’s ego. Of course Dante would want to be Luciferio, the one who’s the most feared. He’s wearing a crown. He loves the idea of that kind of power. The oldest brother would then appeal to Vanica’s need to have fun by causing carnage and chaos. Why wouldn’t she want a devil that could curse people? All the different type sof curses would be so interesting and keep things from getting stale. Then, we all know there’s a high chance that the oldest Zogratis sent the devil that caused Zenon to capitulate and finally request a devil. So clearly, there is something for the oldest brother to gain here.
It’ll be interesting to see how it unfolds. I would think that we’re going to move to Team Parole vs. Morris next since we’ve been ignoring them so far and now that the Dark Triad is likely all defeated, it’s time for Asta, Yuno, and Noelle to head to the laboratory next presumably at least.
Whether that’s what happens or not, I am excited to see what the next phase of the ritual might be, because I would think there has to be some sort of something that goes down once the Dark Triad (and maybe their devils too?) die.
It just tells me how this kind of repeated dialogue, not only about telling a Villain to stop but also using please multiple times within the sentence, could show that this is the key to seeing Izuku’s sympathetic side with someone he previously couldn’t understand
Another thing is the pleading look Izuku gives in both battles. There’s the Shiggy one above
But there’s also this one, when Gentle is telling Izuku his goal
He gives this look because he understands what Gentle is going through, he understands his need to follow his dreams
When I saw Izuku make this face, the first thought that struck me was that this is Izuku now realizing just how much pain Shigaraki is in. He saw the crying child, he saw Shigaraki in pain, and now that he’s out of the Void, all thats left is that knowledge - that Shigaraki is hurting
When I first saw this panel, I thought it could be taken as either
1) Don’t move again because I want you to stop hurting people
or 2) Don’t move again because I don’t want to hurt you anymore than I already have
I now realize that it was both
Which actually fits in well with the theme of Izuku saving Shigaraki but not forgiving him. He wanted Shiggy to stop hurting people but also he didn’t want to hurt him again either
Which. I mean it makes sense that this is what Izuku meant, but when comparing it with other battles where Izuku pleads and makes sympathetic faces, it shows a pattern to the kid’s behavior; the ways in which he reacts to a hurt Villain
Anyway. I’m just rambling at this point. I just like that you can really tell how Izuku interacts with sympathetic Villains, and how similar facial expressions and patterns in dialogue can show how Izuku navigates these situations
#blah blah blah fuck i'm tired #does this make sense? idk #smthg smthg izuku's thoughts and speech patterns are windows into how he behaves and how he could interact with sympathetic villains #bnha #boku no hero academia #bnha spoilers #bnha manga spoilers #izuku midoriya #shigaraki and midoriya #gentle criminal #might delete this at some point idk i can't think straight haha
One thing I like with this trio is that it’s there in the background
A lot of people associate Kaminari with the Bakusquad, or Jirou with Momo on their own (most of the time as a ship). Even Jirou is talked about with Bakugou/Bakusquad, the 1A band, and Jirou and Momo are talked about with the girl group
But I just love these little moments where you can see the trio’s friendship
Of course, the very first time
Then we have the cultural festival arc with them again
Then in the Raid
And even a couple of moments in the Save Deku arc
(a few in this list only have two of the trio but I chose them anyway because there’s still that connection that ties them together)
First of all, when I was collecting these pictures, I didn’t realize just how much they actually interact. It’s like Hori keeps their interactions continuous as proof that that first time in USJ sparked a friendship between the three
Second of all, I like to think about what kind of things they have in common
- Jirou and Kaminari love music and they love talking about it and playing their instruments. They also have almost the same fashion sense. Plus, these two have a back-and-forth bickering relationship and, at the same time, are genuinely honest with each other
- Momo and Kaminari have the similar story arcs centered around confidence. Momo had trouble with keeping calm in the middle of battle and trying to think up strategies in the heat of the moment, and this was a hit to her self-esteem. Kaminari had trouble controlling his quirk and he didn’t want to hurt anyone; he lacked confidence in his own abilities because he was too aware of everyone else around him. As they both began to train more, they gained a bit more confidence in their abilities. In Kami’s case, it was because of his support item that allowed him to target where his electricity would go that gave him a better success rate. And little by little, Momo’s confidence grew higher the more she trained and/or was thrown into perilous situations
- They also have the general shared experience of being used by other people for their quirks, what with Kaminari being used as a charger and Momo repeatedly asked if she could make something (in Kamino Incident when she was asked if she could just make more money, and with the screencap in the above list of Kaminari asking if she would be able to make another rope - likely expecting how he’s been treated to be the same way with her)
- Momo and Jirou have a very nice friendship where they talk about music and are generally each other’s support. In the BNHA Ultra Analysis book, it states that “Momo has been teaching Jirou about classic music and she’s gotten really into it”, suggesting that they have also shared music tastes
I just really love seeing this trio every now and again. I think it speaks volumes (lol) that Hori put them together in the USJ arc and saw it fit to run with it. I know that 1A are basically all friends, that they all have a variety of interactions and friendships, but honestly I think Kaminari, Jirou and Momo is one of my favorite trios😊
