After Maze storms out of his penthouse, Lucifer goes after her. Eventually, he finds her at their beach, sitting there silently, watching the surf, crying. He sits down next to her, apologizes, tries to convince her that he does care about her, that she is not his second choice. Maze doesn’t believe him, telling him coldly to stop lying. His actions have already spoken for him. He begs her to give him another chance, to let him prove to her that he means it. Desperate to convince her, he offers her a deal: if she gives him one month to show her that he does care and will put her first, he will take her back to Hell if she hasn’t changed her mind at the end of that period. Maze is not happy about it, but since this is her only way to get what she wants, she agrees.

634Lucifer didn’t automatically become King of Hell when he fell. He had to fight his way to the top in the seething hotbet of intrigues and power struggles that is the infernal kingdom. And when he first landed down there, injured and alone, he was taken prisoner by one of the warring demon factions. The one led by Lilith.
Lilith considered him a potentially useful pawn, both in Hell’s internal power struggles, and in any future fight against the Silver City. She also viewed him as too dangerous to be left to his own devices. The thankless task of guarding this celestial prisoner was handed to one of Lilith’s daughters. A daughter who was strong and resourceful, perhaps a bit too strong and resourceful for her mother’s tastes.
Mazikeen knows that sooner or later, her mother will try to get rid of her. Being ordered to look after an injured and disgraced angel might just be the first attempt.
Lucifer is desperate to escape, but to do so he needs to get past Mazikeen. He quickly learns that this is no easy task. She is immune to his desire powers and his charms, and she manages to thwart all of his escape attempts. But perhaps there is another way for him to get out, if only he can convince her to work with him instead of against him.0

530Lucifer gets a call from a hospital, informing him that Maze has been brought in after she was found unconscious and with critical injuries. Maze manages to survive, but when she finally wakes up after several days in a coma she has lost her memory. She can’t remember anything, not even Lucifer himself. Or the fact that she is a demon. Lucifer takes care of her and tries to help her regain her memories, while at the same time investigating what happened to her.
