I was rewatching early S7 episodes and so many things hit me. Remember when Liz was telling Cooper how Red gave up half his life for her? Remember the “Do you know anyone else who does that?” Remember the “I’m looking for someone I care about”?
My question is…what the hell happened? Liz went from appearing so emotionally committed to Red and his safety to like, tossing him aside for a random woman who claims to be her mother (who, by the way, murdered people in front of her daughter)?…Am I still supposed to believe a real person would do that? Not to mention an FBI PROFILER?? Bruh. How many times in this show has Red told her that there are people out there who pose danger to her?
I know it’s dumb for me to just now realize this but I’m livid. This is just a prime example of how the writers constantly sacrifice Liz’s consistency and credibility just for the sake of plot. They keep pulling her back and forth in each direction as if no one cares about her character. Liz deserves better?? I will die atop this hill. They don’t do that with any other character — just her. Would it have been so bad for Liz to have looked at Katarina and been like: “Hm, THAT’S weird. Reddington has told me before to be cautious, and he’s warned me that she would try to hurt us.” That’s not even FBI profiler shit, that’s regular ass person shit.
All this on top of Liz’s RELENTLESS attempts to kill Reddington, DESPITE her literally claiming last season “he gave up half his life for me” ON TOP OF telling him she loves him the season before???? gtfo
