Found out the canonical heights for characters in Miraculous tonight, and I'm genuinely dying of laughter.
They're all so freaking TINY!!!! They're all just BABIES!!! Alix is literally the size of an average 6yo! And most of them actually aren't that, abnormally tiny, closer to the size of most like 10-12yos than the 13-15yos they are, but not unreasonably small if they all just happen to have not hit their growthspurts yet. (My almost 15yo brother is actually about the same height that Adrien canonically is, even after growing like 5" in the past year, and guys in my family are tall) And Ivan and Kim both already have noticably started their growthspurts, and are within the average height range for their age. But then theres Hawkmoth who's this actual 7'2" GIANT in comparison to these tiny baby superheroes (who don't deserve this stress!)
And I realize that most of the fandom has chosen to ignore these canonical heights, but I genuinely want someone to write a fic where the whole reason Marinette is as clumsy as she is is because unlike most of her friends she's actually started to hit her growthspurt, and is just dealing with teenage gangliness.
And she likely only ends up like 5'2"ish by the time she stops growing around 16 (when girls normally stop growing) and 9ish inches is still alot to grow in two years (one of my sisters did that, and literally ended up on crutches like 5x in that time because it ramped up her clumsiness so much) but it's more gradual than some of her classmates. Alix for example is 3'6" and has like a year left to grow before reaching her adult height of approximately 5', so she's literally growing at least an inch every month. And the guys it's not necessarily as dramatic, as they have a whole decade to grow still, so they're not as much of disasters as the girls, most of whom should probably be growing about a foot in a year or two. Like Chloe is trying SO hard to maintain her image, Juleka is stumbling in her heels when Marinette has her modeling something, Alix outright has to relearn how to skate (but now she can reach higher than Kim's stomach to punch him when he teases her about it) there's at least a couple broken bones, and its just chaos.
And Adrien, who at 5' is already one of the tallest in their friend group, we know genuinely has the potential to grow another TWO freaking FEET. He probably doesn't, and hits like 6'5" or something in his 20's, but he's growing like crazy. The other guys are all a little awkward and clumsy too, but they have nothing on this beanpole, who ends up in getting WAY too many stitches because he keeps literally tripping onto his and Kagami's fencing foils.
But they're the SUPERHEROES too, and they're all scrawny with gangly limbs and unaccustomed to their height. Rena and Carapace's literally rehearsed parkour keeps ending in a tangled heap of limbs, Chat keeps launching himself too far when pole-vaulting with his baton, no one is actually aware of how long their limbs are, and the already irritating disproportional strength to size ratio is made 5000x worse by their powers, and it's a mess. Like it almost becomes a meme it's so funny when there's like 6m where the famously clumsy Ladybug is the only hero of Paris ever able to make it through a battle or patrol without tripping over their own feet and/or weapon.
And yet somehow they keep winning. They get accustomed to their new heights. They build their muscle back up to be proportional. They learn to use their new powers. And winning starts getting easier and easier.
And then they get to a final battle with Hawkmoth. And suddenly he's not a terrifyingly giant, seemingly unbeatable supervillian. He's just a weirdly tall criminal with horrible fashion sense and the dumbest evil plans imaginable.
