Shaved, moisturized, covered in tiger balm…now I’m watching my favorite movie (Joaquin Phoenix, I’m Still Here) and doing some yoga poses for anxiety. I feel like I’m truly trying to mend my sad little heart.

So, today I thought I’d give you guys some natural hair types. One of my favorites/most important hair tip is moisturize your hair! I cannot stress this enough, you curls moisturized looks wayyyy different than curls that is lacking in moisture. There is more definition, more shine and increase elasticity. You must be sure to not over moisturize as well. The key is knowing what your hair wants or needs in any given moment. Moisture is important because it helps prevent breakage which also minimizes shedding.
Pre-Poo your hair- Pre-pooing helps protect your hair from moisture loss before you shampoo your hair.
Co-washing- This provided conditioning conditioning properties that can help with dryness. Very good for those naturals that do not like washing their hair with shampoo.
Deep condition- This should be done on a regular basis, however often you feel your hair would need it. It is best to use heat during this process to help open up the hair cuticles to allow moisture in.
Water- Drink lots and lots of water.
Protect your hair- Use silk or satin based sheets and pillow cases if you are not a fan or wrapping your hair up. If you like head wraps or bonnets use satin/silk as well. Cotton and pull hair out as well as absorb the moisture from your hair.
I did 5 pumps of my face cream instead of the needed 2 and slathered it all over my face and neck like sour cream on a waffle and I feel so moiStuRisED
