- The Shade is a permanent aftereffect once ritually contracted by the Maidens of Scáthach, an ancient order of Irish witches. Being comprised of mainly warriors, this order focused on combat and utilized the Shade to gain the upper hand in battle by shifting in and out of physical form.
- A witch’s “shadow form” is actually a semi-corporeal mixture of hallucinogenic smoke and darkness. the amount of this substance generated is often much more than the actual mass of the witch’s body, and it can be inhaled; anyone unfortunate enough to do so experiences powerful hallucinations, such as visions of fire, a burning sensation in their skin or lungs, distortions in the walls and floor, and even just pitch blackness. you can suffocate on this substance if the witch so chooses.
- Shaded witches can temporarily change objects – and even people – as well. when the condition is first contracted, this ability is usually used subconsciously on clothes at first; but with practice, they can change what they touch into shadow intentionally. these things revert back to normal when contact is lost.
- a skilled Shaded witch can control what parts of her body change into shadow. she can also travel more quickly by darting through real shadows like a highway.
- when in shadow form, these individuals are sensitive to light. prolonged exposure can result in horrible sunburns.

- amanda gets really skilled with her shadow form really fast. like, crazy fast. she says it’s so she can finally steal from the school vaults. (
it’s really so she can kiss hannah and barbara without making them cough like nuts) - lotte is a fire and light Fairen. you can guess why being around her while she’s a glowstick can make amanda a little nervous. but this hasn’t damaged their relationship! it just means they have to be a little more… careful.
- amanda got the Shade “by accident.” she doesn’t know how she got it, but her family – one of the surviving branches of the Maidens of Scáthach – sure does. (i welcome you guys’ interpretation of this!)

human!Ahsoka is always fun to draw. i’ve decided she’s on the girl’s soccer team, that’s how she becomes bffs with Rex and Anakin (who obv are managers during their own off season.) she dies her hair white and blue bc she’s aggressively supportive of her teammates. she’s also a lil bit of a stoner and hits up parties with Anakin. Rex is her mom-friend who’s always like “you can party but plz also study and do not flunk out???” Barriss is her housemate and close friend
