I was gonna follow DrawTober, but I had exams for most of the month, so I couldn’t. But anyway, here, have this drawing of my OC, Will. I tried to change my art style, cause I didn’t really like my old one. I like this new one, and I got much better at lighting.
Anyway, I love my boy. So here’s a drawing of my son.
seriously, I still think one of Arthur’s greatest fears is becoming another Uther. I also feel like he’d feel miserable about everything and for Merlin and stuff. “I never meant to start a fire, I never meant to make you bleed,”
“My past has tasted bitter, for years now, so I wield an iron fist, grace is just weakness, or so i’ve been told, I’ve been cold I’ve been merciless, but the blood in my hands, scares me to death, maybe I’m waking up,”
“I’ll be good, I’ll be good, for all of the light that I shut out, for all of the innocent things that i doubt, for all of the bruises I caused and the tears, and all of the things that I’ve done, all these years”
a great day to remember what an incredible life he had. a boy really said “I’m going to revolutionize piano music!“ and then went and did it. and then he said “I’m going to put my money where my mouth is and become the greatest artist-patron in my time and field“ and then went ahead and did that, too.
he was flawed. he was human. he was suffering enormously from spiritual as well as personal plight. but he never allowed himself to stagnate, and refused to let the music of 19th century europe stagnate, either. he used all his power to see the era through: supporting up and coming musicians, giving charity concerts, championing unrecognized Wagner until he became the greatest star of the late 19th century. dedicated the entire latter part of his life to philanthropy. behind almost every musician that lived in europe at the time, there Liszt was: supporting them in one way or another, often personally.
he taught so many students that the greatest piano lineages today still trace back to him. without him, the modern piano wouldn’t exist in the form that it does.
he is the kind of singular, remarkable human being that only passes through once in a century - truly gifted in every way. it isn’t hard to believe that people like him are born into the world for a mission - and they stay for that reason alone. once it is done, they’re gone.
happy 209th birthday. thank you for having been here, for still being here with us in all the ways that matter. you are still dear to our hearts, franz.
