A month Before pandemic....
Ho bisogno di cantare fino a perdere la voce ad un concerto
"All I Want For Christmas Is No More COVID-19"
LONG MESSAGE AHEAD!
I'm not depressed nor sad or lonely this pandemic. Instead, I am happy and optimistic even though I spent all of my time at home for about 10 months now, not going out even once.
It's been a long time since I drew an artwork not because I gave up on arts, but because of my online classes. This pandemic has changed our lives and we have no choice but to adapt to this change. That's why, many of us searched for other ways to be productive inside the comforts of our homes just like me, by enrolling in the online classes. Honestly, I was hesitant at first to go into online class, but my mother encouraged me to enroll because she doesn't want me to be left behind after all, we have a strong wifi signal, a laptop and most importantly, gadgets as alternative. In order words, we are blessed to have the things needed for online classes
It was in August when we started the semester. Being my first time for this type of classes, Initially I struggled but as days and weeks went by, I learned to adjust to the so called 'distance online learning'. I realized that online classes have strengths and weaknesses. It isn't easy as some might think. Slow internet and brown out are some hurdles which we often encounter. It is equally a struggle for both students and teachers who are so oriented to traditional learning.
While it is true that education is for everyone, but during this pandemic, only the ones who are privileged to have the things and conditions necessary for on line class are able to pursue their schooling. My heart goes for those students who were not able to join the online classes in this pandemic times because we know that time passes by only once; time lost can no longer be regained. Their reasons may differ from one another. Some may be due to slow internet connection while others may be because of financial problem or maybe they are not comfortable with online classes. Whatever they may be, I understand them and I respect their decisions. After all, we did not choose this pandemic to happen, neither do have control of it nor of lives.
If there is one thing that I learned out of this COVID 19 Pandemic it is the fact that it humbled me and enabled me to realize that all the things or possessions that we may have are temporary. Let us just hope and pray to God that this pandemic will end very soon. All I want for this Christmas is no more COVID-19 virus. I am sure that this wish is not mine alone but everybody's wish, too.
