I’M CRY LAUGHING
I’M CRY LAUGHING
musicians be like “I know a spot” then take you to a practice room
The Freiburger Orchestra playing Bach’s hauntingly beautiful Adagio from the first Brandenburg Concerto. The violinist at the front is Daniela Helm, playing a piccolo violin (higher pitched, though it looks almost like a normal-sized violin).
I made another one of these
tag yourself I’m chaotic neutral
New song!!! I learned what an oboe was!
discovering a new quirk about the oboe is always so fun because then I have one more thing to be inordinately annoyed by that will never affect 99.4% of people, but will cause me mild-to-moderate internal pain to deal with.
on that note, the fact that the low C key isn’t usable for mid C in, like, at least a chromatic scale makes me very upset.
oboists really spend 20 minutes in a lesson on 3 measures.
Every performance for a critical audience is not a value judgment, but a lesson. Enter with that mindset.
George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) - Concerto grosso in g-minor, Op. 6 No. 6, HWV 324, III. Musette. Larghetto. Performed by Combattimento Consort Amsterdam.
… for oboe and 13 strings.
This is a really terrible joke I thought of and maybe someone else already did this but anyway.
Woodwind: ofc we knew we would win we are called woodwinds not woodn'twinds.
I’m so sorry that was stupid
new improv challenge!
think of someone in your life. Today, I thought of friends, but it can be anyone who has been impactful (positive or negative).
now, let the story of your relationship guide the melodies you create.
The Sally Gardens is a popular song for voice and piano, and I thought it was so nice that I made a version that instrumentalists could also enjoy. You can play the sheet music along with a backing track in this video:
Or you can just have the sheet music below:
Please let me know if any of you have requests for future videos/sheet music arrangements. I’m happy to make more!
Try singing the alphabet but it’s just the notes
1:54 you’ll recognize it when you hear it
At first I thought it was a custom car horn. A lot of people down here have train horns (which are illegal), or horns that play Dixie or the Godfather theme, but this just kept going! Someone is playing the actual song in full!
I live close to the high school, so every now and then I’d hear the marching band drum line, but school’s been out since April, and even if it hadn’t closed because of the virus, the school year ended two weeks ago. And what high school in this the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty would be playing Pagliacci?! Was Carmen not available? La Boheme? Orpheus in the Underworld?
Who the hell is playing it, and why?
I can’t think of a more appropriate song to represent the state of my mental health right now; I think the universe is taunting me
Here is a video where you can play along. Try changing the speed to 1.25 or 1.5 for an added challenge:
And here is the sheet music so you can practice the notes without the video:
GUYS I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW L I T T L E THE PUBLIC KNOWS ABOUT OBOES
ONE TIME I WAS GETTING READY TO PUT MY OBOE AWAY AFTER SCHOOL AND MY FRIEND WAS THERE AND SHE ASKED ME
Here is a video where you can play along:
And here is a picture of the sheet music:
I’m working on finding a way that people can access the PDF and MP3 files to download and save, but until then, this is the best I can do. Enjoy!
Johann Gottlieb Graun (1703-71) - Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in c-minor, GWV C:XIII:68, I. Allegro. Performed by Ilia Korol/moderntimes_1800 on period instruments.
