It started about a month ago. At least that was when she first noticed it. Peter had come home for dinner, actually using the front door, which was weird enough already. What made it worse was that when she asked about his after school Spider-Manning, which she always did, he froze up before responding like normal. May tried to ignore his reaction. She figured if it was something important, he would talk to her about it eventually.
As they ate, she noticed that he also didn’t seem to want to talk about himself at all, which was a tad suspicious. He then practically ran to his bedroom as soon as they finished eating. At first she had written it off as a bad day and tried to ignore it, but then it started to be a reoccurring problem.
Needless to say, May was beginning to worry quite a bit. Ever since that day, every time she would ask Peter about Spider-Man, he would immediately become extremely awkward and stutter through a response before attempting to change the subject completely. The weird part was that other than that, Peter seemed to be happier than she had seen him in years.
She really didn’t want to do anything to jinx this streak of happiness, Peter certainly deserved a break from the pain and suffering he has gone through, but clearly there was something going on that he wasn’t telling her. That something also clearly was related to Spider-Man somehow. The only problem was how she was going to figure out what it was. Peter had made it fairly clear that he wasn’t going to tell her. She had tried to push him on the subject a few times with no luck. He somehow always managed to successfully change the subject.
At one point, she decided to try looking in other places for information. She pulled up several news sites that she recalled mentioning Spider-Man before in the hopes that maybe there would be something useful there. Unfortunately, there had been no recent mentions of him at all recently.
Finally one day while Peter was at school, she had an idea. If it was superhero related, who would Peter be most likely to talk to about it? Tony Stark, and she just so happened to have his phone number. Quickly, she pulled her cell phone out and pushed the call button. It rang a few times before he picked up.
“May!” Tony’s surprised voice rang through the speakers on her phone, “What’s going on, you never call me.”
“I wanted to ask you about Peter,” She responded. She paused for a moment, not entirely sure how to explain the situation to him. In hindsight, she probably should’ve thought about that before calling.
“Is Peter okay?” Tony asked, his voice suddenly filled with concern. It made May happy to hear how much he clearly cared about her nephew, even if he wouldn’t admit it in those words.
“Actually, I was hoping you could tell me,” May began, hoping she wasn’t wasting her time. “He keeps dodging the subject every time I mention Spider-Man. I don’t suppose you would know of any reason why he would be doing that.” Okay, maybe that last sentence came out a bit more accusatory than she had intended, but she was worried, and getting increasingly frustrated about the situation. If there was something that they were hiding from her, she had a right to be upset about it.
“Not that I can think of, to be honest I haven’t seen the kid in a while. I can pull up the stats from his suit and make sure he hasn’t been hiding any injuries or something though, if that’ll make you feel better.” May immediately agreed. She wasn’t sure if she should be happy that Tony wasn’t helping Peter hide something, or even more frustrated again because he didn’t know what was going on with her kid either. After a few moments of silence, where May assumed he was looking up whatever he needed to, she heard his voice again.
“That can’t be right,” Tony said quietly, sounding extremely confused. Before May could ask what he meant, he spoke again. “May how often would you say Peter had been going on patrol, in, let’s say the past month?”
“Almost every day, why?” She asked, confused as to where this was going. Briefly, she heard Tony curse under his breath. What was wrong?
“FRI, please tell the lovely May here what you just told me.”
“According to Karen’s reports, Mr. Parker has only put on the Spider-Man suit a total of two times in the past 30 days.” The slightly robotic voice calmly stated. May was not happy to hear that information. If he hasn’t been wearing his suit, then what the hell has he been doing when she thinks he’s out as Spider-Man.
“Well that’s just great,” She exclaimed, now pacing around the living room. “He’s not dodging my questions about Spider-Man because something happened that I should be worried about, he’s dodging my questions because he’s lying to me about where he’s been going.” Tony had the audacity to laugh at her anger. “Don’t you laugh about this Stark.”
“I’m sorry,” He said, clearly still laughing. “Just ask him where he’s really been going. I mean, it’s gotta be something he enjoys more than Spider-Man, which I wasn’t aware was possible. Maybe the kids got a girlfriend?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, he would tell me about something like that.” Wouldn’t he?
“Oh, because he tells you everything?” Tony teased, and she just hung up. She got the information she needed from him, she didn’t need to listen to his sarcasm. Checking the time, she realized that it wasn’t too long before Peter usually came home. As soon as he got back, she would confront him about where he’s really been going after school and on the weekends.
Peter apparently had other plans. At first she wasn’t too concerned about that, because it was a Friday night. If there was any day that it was normal for him to be a tad late coming home, it was Friday. Even so, it was a couple hours after he usually arrived back when he finally walked through the door. He wasn’t technically out past curfew, but any later and he would have been. Clearly he hadn’t seen her right away and was quickly walking towards his bedroom as soon as he was inside. If she didn’t know any better, she would say it looked like he was trying to sneak in, but if that was the case, he would’ve gone in through his window.
“Not so fast there buddy.” May said, standing there with her arms crossed, causing Peter to jump.
“Hey May,” He started, his hand moving to scratch at his neck nervously, adjusting the collar of his shirt slightly as he did so. “I didn’t see you there.”
“Mmhmm. How was patrol?” She asked pointedly, hoping he would notice her tone, and realize that she knew. It would save him a lot of trouble.
“Oh, it was good, nothing too interesting.”
“Oh really?” She asked incredulously. He was clearly starting to get nervous.
“Yep.” He answered quickly. He shifted awkwardly, causing the collar of his shirt to move from where he had adjusted it before and that was when she saw it. There was a decently sized bruise covering the part of his neck where it met his shoulder. Maybe Tony had been right about hiding a girlfriend from them. She pretended not to notice it at first.
“Any injuries at all I need to worry about?”
“Really? Then what’s that on your neck?” Immediately, Peter’s face began to turn red. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, with no words coming out. She let him stand there stuttering awkwardly for a moment before talking again as a form of minor revenge for making her worry so much.
“Except I know that can’t be from your Spider-Manning because I had a wonderful conversation with our good friend Tony Stark earlier, and he told me that you’ve only been out twice in the past month.” Peter honestly looked absolutely terrified. “Tony seems to think you’ve got a girlfriend, which seemed ridiculous at the time, but seeing that thing on your neck, I’m not so sure it is. So I’m gonna ask you this one time Peter, and I want the truth. Where have you been going?” Of all of the reactions she had been expecting, it hadn’t been this. As soon as she finished talking, Peter started crying and began to repeatedly apologize.
“I’m so sorry May, I know I should’ve told you, but I was scared, which is stupid, but I just don’t know how you’re going to react. I really didn’t mean to lie to you for so long, and I am so so sorry. I know I should’ve told you what was going on sooner, and I know you won’t be that mad but it still scares me and…” “Peter, I need you to tell me what’s going on.” May interrupted, realizing that Peter was starting to talk in circles and wasn’t really getting anywhere. She pulled him down to sit next to her on the couch. “Just tell me, whatever it…”
“I was with my boyfriend.” Peter suddenly blurted out, interrupting her sentence. As soon as he said it, his hand flew up to cover his mouth, and he seemed to feel about as surprised at his own words as May did. She stared at him for a few moments, blinking as she processed what he had just said.
“Why didn’t you just tell me that in the first place?” May asked him after a few seconds.
“I’m sorry, I know I should have, it’s just, I never really told you that I wasn’t straight, and I didn’t know how you would react. I know it’s stupid, because obviously you don’t have a problem with it. I just didn’t know how to tell you, and I kept getting too nervous at the last second any time I wanted to bring it up.” She let him ramble for a second before pulling him into a hug, which he immediately accepted. Pulling away, she looked at him for a moment, thankful he had stopped crying.
“So tell me about this boyfriend.” When Peter didn’t respond right away, she decided to ask something more specific. “What’s his name?” “Harley.” Peter responded quietly, looking down at his hands.
“That’s a nice name. You got a picture of this Harley kid?” Peter smiled and pulled out his phone. As soon as he turned the screen on she saw the picture. It was a selfie of two boys smiling happily at the camera. One of them was obviously Peter, who seemed to be the one taking the photo. The other was a slightly taller, blonde boy, who had his arm wrapped around Peter’s shoulder. As she was looking at the photo that was clearly Peter’s lockscreen, a text notification came through, and she saw a glimpse of it.
Harles <3: Did you make it home okay? Usually you text me by now…
There must have been more than that, but that was all she could see in the brief notification that popped up. Peter pulled his phone back and typed something, probably in response to his boyfriend, before putting his phone away.
“You two look cute together.” She said looking at her nephew with a small smile. He looked so happy. Peter blushed slightly at her statement. “Obviously he makes you happy, and he’s clearly worried for your safety, so I can almost forgive him for that.” She finished, pointing at the now obvious hickey that was on Peter’s neck. He blushed even deeper as his hand quickly flew up to cover his neck.
May laughed at his reaction as she walked out of the room to go to bed. She felt much better now that she knew what was going on, and she couldn’t say she blamed him for not telling her right away. Sure, she was still a bit upset that he had lied about where he was, but she also understood how hard coming out like that was for him.
A few days later, May hadn’t been thinking much about the whole situation anymore. Briefly, she thought about how it might be a good idea to tell Tony what had happened, since she had pulled him into this mess. He might like to know that there was nothing to worry about. She walked to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, but froze dead in her tracks at what she heard as she passed Peter’s bedroom.
“I think I’m gonna tell Harley about Spider-Man.” What? She knew Peter had been pretty happy with this Harley boy, but she hadn’t realized that the relationship was already that serious.
“I’m serious Ned, I love him. I don’t just wanna keep lying about it.” Okay. Definitely that serious. Without thinking that much, she burst into Peter’s room, causing him to jump and almost drop his phone.
“I want to meet Harley.” She stated before he got a chance to say anything.
“I gotta go, I’ll call you back.” He said into the phone before setting it down, and turning his full attention to May. “What?”
“Harley. Your boyfriend. Clearly it’s a pretty serious relationship, so I want to meet him.” Peter stared at her for a few moments.
“Okay?” He answered, still looking a bit startled by her sudden entrance.
“Invite him over for dinner this weekend.” She finished before walking out of the room. Now seemed as good a time as any to call Tony back, while she was still thinking about it. She got the glass of water she had originally come out to get before going back to her room and selecting the contact. As usual, it rang a couple times.
“Hey May.” Tony began. “You figure out what’s going on with Peter yet?”
“Yes I did. You were almost right. He doesn’t have a girlfriend, but he does have a boyfriend.” Tony was silent on the other end for a while so she added. “Kid came home the other night with a massive hickey on his neck too. Made the conversation slightly awkward.” At that, Tony started to laugh.
“Really?” He asked, still laughing. “Way to call the poor kid out.”
“He shouldn’t have lied to me.” May said, chuckling slightly as well. “I’m meeting the boy this weekend so hopefully that goes well. Just thought you might like to know what was going on after our last talk.”
“I do appreciate this information, thank you.” She hung up the phone after that. Now she just had to wait for this weekend and she could meet this Harley kid who had stolen her nephews heart.

Parkner Halloween Week: Day 7: one bed
“Are you implying something, Mister Osborn?” Ross asked, straightening his back against the hard material of his chair.
“I’m not implying anything.” Harry said sweetly.
“Wonderful, gentlemen -.” Kathy smiled a tight lipped smile between the three of them - Fisk silent but leering and Ross fuming.
“I’m stating a fact. My father had bribed you and god knows how many other members of the cabinet to turn the other way while he was running unsanctioned tests on human subjects without FDA approval. But,” Harry tilted his head, his artfully styled hair barely moving from it’s seat on top of his head, golden in the studio lights. “I’m sure you and Mayor Fisk have a little deal like that too.”
Harley: I’m a reverse hypochondriac I just ignore everything, and hope it’ll go way eventually.
Peter: Yeah, me too. One time I went blind for two minutes after the rhino body slams me into a brick building and I said nothing
Stephen: I’m sorry, you did what?!?!?!
Anyone want to do a Parkner Rp?

“You weren’t this talkative yesterday.”
“You weren’t as interesting yesterday,” Peter countered. “Aunt May was always the… confront the problem head on, type of person. She found out I was getting bullied at school and I have never seen a principal look more terrified than when May was screaming at her.” He laughed fondly. “And Ben was all about talking to people. Figuring out the root of the problem, yeah? He told me that nine times out of ten someone that hurt other people only did it because they were being hurt themselves. The whole ‘the bullied often bully’ thing. So I started trying to talk people down. To sympathize with them.”
“But that’s just excusing the symptom of a problem.” Harley argued. He was finding, remarkably, that it was incredibly easy to argue with Peter. To have someone so smart willing to sit across from him and be so open with his own opinions. “Just because someone is also being bullied doesn’t mean that they have the right to bully others.”
“It doesn’t mean they have the right,” Peter scoffed. “Keep up, Harley. It means that they deserve compassion too.”
“So you’re out here handing out all of this compassion,” Harley shrugged. “What does that mean for you? What compassion do you save for yourself?”
“None.” Peter said simply and then laughed at the look that Harley must have on his face. “Listen, I’m self aware enough to know that I am my own worst enemy.”

“Hey May! I’m home” Peter half yells as he walks into their apartment. As he entered, he smelled the Thai food that May must’ve picked up before he got home. Suddenly, he was surprised by his aunt pulling him into a hug.
“Thank you!” She said in a slightly teasing manner, before pulling away from the hug. Peter gave her a strange look.
“For what?” He responded hesitantly, not sure at all where she could be going with this.
“I was beginning to think you forgot where the door was.” She added sarcastically, referring to Peter’s habit of entering the apartment by climbing through his bedroom window.
“Don’t be ridiculous, I use the door to leave the apartment every morning.” Peter laughed, sitting down with May at their small table to eat.
“So how was your Spider-Manning?” She asked casually as they ate. Peter paused for a second. He wasn’t sure what to say. Should he tell her about Harley? It wasn’t like he thought it would be a huge issue to her, but he hadn’t exactly ever come out to May. She didn’t know that he was bi, and if he said he was out with a friend instead of on patrol like he was supposed to be, she might ask more questions and then be able to tell that he wasn’t telling the full truth.
Peter eventually decided that he wasn’t quite ready to tell her. Not yet at least. He didn’t particularly feel good about lying, but he was too scared.
“It was good,” Peter said as convincingly as he could. “Not even that busy tonight.”
Thankfully she didn’t seem to question his answer, or at least if she did, she didn’t say anything about it. They briefly talked about how May’s day was, as he tried to keep the conversation mostly about her. He wasn’t sure he would be able to stumble his way through talking about his day without blushing or talking about Harley, which would defeat the purpose of lying when he had arrived home.
Almost as soon as they finished eating, Peter excused himself to his room, claiming to have a bit of homework to get done before he went to bed. Though, he really just wanted to talk to Ned and MJ about what had happened after school.
As Peter sat down on his bed, he pulled out his phone and sent a quick text to their group chat. Hopefully neither of them would be too busy to talk.
Peter: Hey, are you guys available for a call??
Almost immediately after he pressed the send button, his phone began to ring. He hit ‘accept’ and Ned’s voice filtered through.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen on patrol? Are you hurt? Do you need medical attention? Or do you need, like, emotional support?”
“Maybe let Peter talk and he’ll tell us what’s wrong,” MJ interrupted Ned’s bombardment of questions, which made Peter laugh slightly. “So what’s up loser?”
“Well, I maybe didn’t actually go on patrol after school today.”
“WHAT? WHY?” Ned practically shouted into the phone before he could continue.
“I agree, what?” MJ asked, “I can’t remember the last time you skipped a day as Spider-Man.” “GUYS,” Peter laughed, “Maybe let me finish, geez. Anyways, I didn’t go out today, because I kind of somehow ended up on a date.”
A completely stunned silence followed. Neither of them said anything, and Peter began to worry. Right before he was going to ask if they were still there, MJ finally spoke up.
“Harley?” She asked simply, causing Peter to blush lightly thinking about him again.
“Ned, you owe me 5 bucks.” MJ added, and he heard Ned sigh.
“Wait a second, you guys bet on me, what the hell?” Peter was a little offended. “What even was the bet?”
“Well after the obvious heart eyes you two were making at each other all day, I said that you would be together by the end of the week. Ned disagreed. Thought you would be too awkward to say anything.” “Hey,” Peter yelled in mock offense, though he couldn’t really be too upset about it. If Harley hadn’t been so forward after school, he definitely wouldn’t have said anything to the other boy.
“It’s true,” Ned briefly interjected.
“Even I didn’t expect it to happen this fast though. I’m impressed, Parker.” MJ finished.
“How long do you think it’ll take Harley to figure out he’s Spider-Man?” Ned asked, laughing.
“I don’t need to listen to this,” Peter laughed, “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” And with that, he hung up the phone and went to bed. Not before double checking all of his alarms though. He wanted to be at school early again, if a day this good would come out of it.
As soon as his first alarm went off, Peter was up. He quickly got dressed and walked out into the kitchen to grab something to eat, and was met with a slightly startled May.
“Okay, who are you and what have you done with my nephew?” She asked with a faux seriousness as she held a hand up to his forehead.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked as he grabbed a banana.
“Well yesterday, you used the door to enter after patrol, and today you’re awake, not just on time, but early. I actually cannot remember the last time you woke up early.”
“I’m great May, just having a good day. Is that not allowed?” He joked as he walked towards the door, “I’m gonna head to school now, I’ll see you tonight.”
Before she could question why he was leaving so early, he was out the door and heading to the school as quickly as he could. When he got to school, he didn’t see Harley yet, or Ned and MJ, so he went to his locker first. Somehow Harley managed to sneak up on him while he was in his locker, again.
“Hey darlin’,” He started, and Peter immediately turned around to face him with a smile on his face. “So, I realized I made a terrible mistake last night.”
Peter’s mood immediately dropped. He thought it was a mistake? Had Peter really misinterpreted things that much last night? Harley, however, didn’t seem to notice the mood drop and continued.
“I went on a date with the most amazing guy I’ve ever met, and as soon as I got home, I realized that I forgot to get his number. Any chance you could help me fix this?” Peter immediately sighed a breath of relief when Harley finished. He didn’t think their date was a mistake, he was just trying to get Peter’s number.
“Give me your phone,” Peter said, and Harley immediately handed over his phone. Peter quickly added his name and number in and texted himself. As he did this he added, “You know there were about 1,000 better ways you could’ve started that statement, right?” Harley looked at him like a confused puppy for a moment, before his expression changed to a mild panic, seeming to just realize what he had said.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry,” Harley said as he took his phone back. “I really could’ve phrased that better, huh?”
“Well now that I’m not panicking about it, it was kinda cute, but yeah.” With that, Harley’s bright smile returned. Peter saw him look at his phone and change Peter’s contact name to ‘Darlin’ <3’ and Peter had to use all of his focus not to melt on the spot. He quickly pulled his phone out and added Harley to his contacts as ‘Harles <3’. Apparently Harley had also seen this.
“I really liked it when you called me that,” He said quietly. Peter blushed lightly. They just spent a few moments staring at each other before they heard MJ clearing her throat next to them, causing both of them to jump slightly. She and Ned were standing there looking at them expectantly.
“What’s up loser, you gonna introduce us?” She asked Peter, nodding her head slightly towards Harley, causing Peter to blush again. He got worried briefly about whether it would be appropriate to call Harley his boyfriend. Obviously he wanted to, and it seemed like he was, but Peter’s anxiety didn’t want to let him assume. Thankfully the school bell made the decision for him.
“No,” Peter responded sarcastically, before grabbing Harley’s hand instinctively and walking to his first class. Harley just laughed and immediately allowed Peter to drag him along. . MJ rolled her eyes and walked in the opposite direction to her first class as Ned chased after the two, mildly offended.
Once they were in their first period, they were early enough that Harley was able to sit next to Peter and Ned. Ned introduced himself to Harley, and told him that it was nice to properly meet the guy that could make Peter’s brain completely shut down, causing Harley to laugh. Peter rolled his eyes and blushed at the comment. Not that it wasn’t completely true, but he did he really have to say it like that. He assumed it was some kind of petty revenge for not introducing him at their lockers.
After the class ended, Peter was disappointed to remember that he didn’t share any more classes with Harley until after lunch.
Thankfully those classes went by fairly quickly. As Peter was walking to lunch, Harley came up next to him and he couldn’t help but smile as they walked next to each other.
“Your friend MJ is kind of terrifying,” He said with a slightly concerned look on his face. Peter’s face immediately dropped.
“What did she say to you?” Peter asked, panicking more than was probably necessary. His worry must have been obvious based on Harley’s reaction.
“Oh no, it wasn’t that bad, she just may have slightly told me about all of the murderers she likes to read about before mentioning that I should remember that if I ever even thought about hurting you.” Peter was scowling at MJ as they approached the lunch table.
“I am so sorry about her,” He said, sitting down next to Harley.
“Don’t look at me like that Parker, you should’ve seen this coming.” MJ snorted, before smirking. “Besides, he answered right, so you don’t need to worry about it.”
“Oh really?” He said sarcastically, still glaring slightly at MJ, “And what exactly is it that you consider the ‘correct’ response to you threatening him?” It was at that moment that Ned sat down, his eyes going wide at Peter’s question.
“You threatened him?” Ned asked incredulously.
“Only a little bit.” MJ responded before going back to reading her book, making it clear that he wasn’t going to get any more answers out of her. Instead he turned his attention back to Harley.
“What did you say to her?” Peter asked curiously.
“Don’t worry about it darlin’,” Harley responded, putting his arm around Peter. He certainly hadn’t expected the gesture, but he also couldn’t help but lean into the embrace. It just made him feel safe and happy. Ned and MJ shared an odd look that Peter pretended not to notice. The two were clearly shocked at how comfortable Peter and Harley were around each other already which was understandable, as it kind of surprised Peter as well.
Soon enough lunchtime was over. Harley and Peter were practically inseparable for the rest of the day. They had even gotten yelled at for talking too much once during their class. Oops. It’s not like he was learning anything new in that class anyways, so why should it matter if he wasn’t really paying attention. Before he knew it the school day was over.
“So do you have any plans today?” Harley asked as they walked towards his locker.
“I have a feeling I’m about to,” Peter responded immediately with a warm laugh. Did hanging out with Harley mean skipping out on yet another day of Spider-Man? Maybe so, but Peter just couldn’t seem to bring himself to care all that much.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to, but would you maybe wanna go to my apartment and watch a movie or something?” Harley asked, clearly anxious to hear Peter’s answer. The boy’s demeanor was interesting in the way that he acted confidently, but still seemed to second guess every other word that came out of his mouth. If Peter was being honest, it kind of reminded him of Mr. Stark in a way.
“I’d love to,” Peter said with a huge smile on his face, making sure that Harley could tell how genuinely happy he was. Though he probably would’ve said yes to just about anything that Harley suggested they do.
“Let’s go then,” Harley smiled as he grabbed Peter’s hand and they headed towards Harley’s apartment. The walk there wasn’t too long, and they spent most of it in a comfortable silence, their clasped hands swinging gently between them. When they arrived, he called out asking if anyone was home, but nobody responded.
“Were you expecting someone to be home?” Peter asked curiously.
“Not really,” Harley shrugged. “I know my mom’s at work, but I wasn’t sure if my sister would be home.”
“Abby, right?” Peter asked, remembering that Harley had mentioned her yesterday at the cafe.
“Yeah,” He answered, looking at Peter with a fond smile on his face. Peter was incredibly glad he had remembered that bit of information, mostly because he would give anything to have Harley continue looking at him like that.
The two of them ended up throwing on some cheesy sci-fi movie that had been playing on tv at the time while they cuddled on the couch. Peter decided that he must be in heaven. There was no other explanation for how happy he was. Unfortunately he then thought back to the anxiety he had felt this morning. He could feel that anxiety bubbling up again, thinking about how he had been unsure if he was his boyfriend or not. It felt like it should be simpler than it was.
“Harles can I ask you a probably dumb question?” Peter asked in the middle of the movie, looking over at the other boy.
“What is it darlin’?” Harley immediately met Peter’s eyes, giving him his full attention.
“Are you my boyfriend?” Peter cringed at his own words as soon as the question left his mouth. He felt awkward asking, he felt like he should know the answer, but he needed to be sure, or he would just stress about it constantly.
“I hope so.” Harley responded so simply, but it made Peter’s heart burst in happiness.
“Peter,” His boyfriend started again softly, placing his hand gently on Peter’s face. “Can I kiss you?”
Peter’s heart was pounding in his chest. This was about to be his first kiss. He wasn’t entirely sure he could trust his voice to work right now, so instead of answering, Peter leaned forward and gently placed his lips on Harley’s. The other boy immediately kissed him back. As soon as they pulled apart, Peter still felt the ghost of Harley’s lips on his own. He missed the sensation already. Harley leaned his forehead against Peter’s peacefully, with a content smile on his face. They stayed like that for a few moments, the movie in the background completely forgotten.
Eventually, Harley leaned forward, kissing Peter again. Peter didn’t think he could ever get enough of the warm feeling in his chest. This time it wasn’t nearly as brief. It got a bit heated rather quickly, and Peter was mildly embarrassed to admit that he whimpered slightly when Harley gently pulled his bottom lip in between his teeth.
Unfortunately, it was right then when the sound of a door flying open, caused the two boys to jump apart. Though the sudden distance would do nothing to hide the now mildly disheveled appearance of the two boys from whoever it was that had entered.
“Harley are you home?” Peter briefly registered a female voice asking. Just then the young girl walked further into the room and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the two of them on the couch. “Oh… hi.” “You have bad timing Abby,” Harley said, scowling jokingly at the girl Peter assumed was his sister. Abby started laughing at her brother’s response.
“I see,” She started, before turning back to Peter, “I’m Abby, could I perhaps get the name of the guy making out with my brother on our couch?” Peter could immediately feel his face heating up, causing Abby to laugh again.
“You’re being rude Abigail,” Harley said, looking a bit annoyed. , “This is Peter. My boyfriend.”
Oh. Peter didn’t realize that hearing Harley say that out loud to make him feel as happy as it did. He couldn’t stop the dopey grin from forming on his face as he looked over at his boyfriend.
“We’ve been in New York for less than a week. How do you already have a boyfriend?”
“Easy, I found this adorable genius and I asked him out.” He responded, pointing at Peter, who decided that the best course of action to hide his blush was to hide his face in Harley’s chest. Harley chuckled at that and wrapped his arm around the slightly smaller boy.
“You guys are being too cute. It’s disgusting. I’m going to my room.” And with that, the other girl was gone, and it was just the two of them again.
“Sorry about that, I didn’t think she would be back so soon,” Harley started to apologize before checking the time. “Oh. Or I didn’t realize how late it was.”
“Oh wow,” Peter responded, also just realizing the time. “I should probably head home soon.” He immediately wished that he didn’t have to go upon seeing the sad look on Harley’s face. Unfortunately, if he was out too much longer, May would begin to worry, and he didn’t want her to end up asking questions that he wasn’t quite ready to answer yet. Peter looked over at Harley with a sort of sad smile as he collected his things and headed for the door.
“Text me when you’re home safe?” Harley asked, giving Peter a brief goodbye kiss. “Or call me, if you want. Whichever you prefer, really. Up to you.”
“Of course,” Peter responded with a small smile. He would’ve done that anyways, but it was sweet of Harley to ask him to.
“Goodnight darlin’,” Harley called after him as he was walking down the hall to exit Harley’s apartment building. A small blush appeared on his face, as it did whenever Harley called him that.
“Night Harles,” Peter yelled back, waving as Harley closed the door behind him. If Peter couldn’t stop smiling the whole walk home? Well that was his business, and no one else’s. Except for maybe Harley.
