About the 57th Baeksang Art Awards : the winner for the men is easy to guess but the women (film category) ???? It’s gonna be HARD for the jury ! All the movies they were in are great and their performances are incredible ! I can’t even choose one. I don’t think they will choose Go Ah Sung or Jeon Jong Seo, despite how great they were at their roles, since the other three are like, acting monsters level but still, what a brainstorm they will have to do. I guess best movie will either be Voice of Silence or The Book of Fish. I wish Samjin Company English Class would win but I don’t see it happening... and I have to admit, although Voice of Silence was, in a way, typical of a certain genre, it was also good (and a typical winner). I really liked it too.
No idea which drama will win though. I can never guess those. But I wish either Uhm Ji Won or Shin Hye Sun or Seo Ye Ji would win best actress. My heart goes to Uhm Ji Won, I hope she wins it but well, I really can’t tell since her drama was a short one and about maternity, which is not the usual winner at these awards shows. Best actor will probably be Shin Ha Kyun (it would be well deserved too, he acted his heart out in Beyond Evil).
In the same spirit, I hope Park Ha Sun wins best supporting actress, if only so kdramaland stop typecasting her in moms dramas or moms roles (BUT ALSO JANG YOUNG NAM AND YEOM HYE RAN GOSH).
Best new actress... my vote would go to Lee Jo Young, even though I did not enjoy Times that much, she still carried a good half of it. But then again, she is not exactly a new actress. But then again, Jo Bo Ah won best new actress too when she was already well known... Anyway, I don’t really have an opinion for that category actually since I didn’t watch half of the dramas in question.
Best new actor will probably go to Song Kang I guess ? Since it feels like he is everywhere to me ? I don’t have an opinion either, I don’t know all these names and I haven’t seen any of Song Kang’s dramas. The only name I know is Kim Young Dae, who is a cute kid but honestly, didn’t have much to do in his drama so I don’t expect him to win, nor do I think he should.
