Follow me in the rabbit hole of crazy Penthouse theories under the cut. You will be entertained.

Spoilers for season 1&2

Crazy theory n. 1: The flowers are baby blue

Okay hear me out. They don’t show us at all Logan leaving so it’s possible that he said goodbye or spent some time together with Su Ryeon. Maybe quality time. He comes back with a ring after all, and for what I understood, it’s not a couples ring, the one that says ‘this is the first day of our relationship’ it’s a ring for proposing, you know, matrimony. I know Koreans rush into these commitments compared to how it’s usually in western countries, but the small time it got him to buy a ring would suggest that they have spent at least a little time together as a couple. So, when Su Ryeon says she has something to tell him, and she says that happily, giddily even, maybe it’s that she’s pregnant. They talk about her kids then after all. She’s not showing, of course, but it’s enough time to suspect and to know. Which makes his death infinitely more tragic (if he is indeed dead).

Crazy theory n. 2: Dr Ha is not Rona’s real dad

Oh Yoon Hee, who is smart with a little dose of villain said that only to get back at him, to make him suffer. She really believed he played a part in her daughter’s death, so she wanted to hurt him like he hurt her. Very smart play. Remember that she and him were taking their fake relationship to a real level and his betrayal stang impossibility

Second part of the crazy theory, her dad is alive and he’s coming back. He’s coming back for custody no less, now that her two legal parents are both in prison. And he’s teaming up with CSJ, making this love pentagon.

Crazy theory n. 3: Jenny’s dad makes a move for the penthouse

I have no proof of his intentions, but they do seem nefarious. Since Su Ryeon is the last one standing, he’s going to try to take her kingdom. He was partnering up with JDT, so you know he’s going to play dirty.

Crazy theory n. 4: the man from the airplane is worse than JDT

Logan brought him to Su Ryeon, or at least tried, because he said he knew Mr Baek, suggesting that he was a previous partner of JDT. Logan though he might be useful to have him on their side, hence their coming together. Since we know that he’s a new character and not Su Ryeon’s ex husband, he may be connected to JDT’s dark past. My bet is he is even his ‘boss’. JDT called the big guns from America and he came.

These are my mostly unsubstantiated, mostly crazy Penthouse theories that I wanted to share with you to cope with the finale and the hiatus.

Let me pour out my feelings again. Can I just say how visually good they look! 🥰😍 In the making of this scene they kept saying how old they were with this kind of love! BUT LOOK HOW KYOOOTTTT.🥲

This was such a bitter sweet flashback🥺 The way they kept stating their marriage was contractual yet they seemed to have been doing real couple things. They never stopped loving each other despite everything that happened. Just that their love for their daughter were greater that they were willing to sacrifice their love for each othed. Why must life be so unfair. 😭

Please Writernim! A better season 3 for them with Rona. Let them have their moments as a family! Even just for a while. 😭😭😭 Let Ha Yoon Cheol make up for the moments he couldnt have with Rona and for the pain he caused them.

The Penthouse 2.08

“Wake up. Open your eyes!”

Okay so I’m so devestated. My ship has sank. Rock bottom. To the deepest part of the ocean. But I just cant bring myself to hating Dr Ha the way everyone has been doing the past few episodes. Just like Oh Yoon Hee is trying to make sense of his actions and struggled to let him go. 😢

Their story is actually tragic. They were each other’s first loves and they were ready to go through the hardships together (atleast Oh Yoon Hee was) but Yoon Chul wanted an easy way out and turned his back on her. 17 years later she picked up what was left of him and built him up. With her he rised and became stronger. Together they were powerful, a force to be reckoned with and were not just nobodies.

Unknowingly they also rekindled the love they had for each other. HECK! YOON CHUL ALWAYS LOVED YOON HEE. And he was given a chance to show her and to protect her the way he couldnt in the past. Kudos to him as he had done so well, her daughter even showed fondness to him

But circustances really just wasnt on their side. Yoon Chul was put in such a bad predicament! Where do you put yourself when you are trying to be a father to a kid you abandoned (to be fair he was banished and The bitch SeoJin cut ties) but also trying to make up for 17 years of sorrow you caused the woman you love (also trying to be a father to her daughter)

After feeling hate and disappointment towards Yoon Chul, I believe he has done the best thing letting go of Yoon Hee the way he did. But what pains me is they both know they love each other and really dont want to let go, unfortunately guilt will eat up Yoon Chul and finding out he was involved, Yoon Hee would be a fool to take him back.

Nah. I’m still upset! Writer-nim better pull some strings and make Yoon Chul’s redemption 10000x worth it and their reconciliation the best I’ve ever seen.

I may be the only one left in this ship but in Yoon Chul I trust. 🤣 (yes I’m really a 바보)

Btw: I believe he wasnt the one who removed RoNa’s oxygen, I also like to believe hes the one who hid RoNa somewhere (we all agree shes not dead yet right?) COME ON MAN DONT FAIL ME!

I’m randomly rewatching scenes from The Penthouse, as one should, and damn the sets are so detailed. They don’t pull focus away from the performances, they build an atmosphere of prosperity and greed.

From the lighting to the furniture, everything is luxurious but never extravagant. They put so much care in showcasing every character’s personality through their living space.
