i know lyrically it seems like sirius would sing this to remus, but it makes so much more sense if it’s remus towards sirius considering how much he’s yearning for him. i honestly think the whole dog line adds to it.

they’re always fighting but even when remus doesnt fancy sirius, he still has moments where he longs for a close bond with him, before recognizing his feelings for him.

sirius black and birthday parties are two things that cannot coexist without each other. plus chapter 86 is REMUS’ birthday party and you’re telling me sirius freaking black wouldn’t make any party an opportunity to have the spotlight on him. i also think this line would be in reference to a birthday party before, before THIS one, before the one that made everything go wrong.
