the words that are hard to come by
rhymes with, starts with, ends with,
rattles my head like hard letters in a velveteen bag.
I see the word you put down, fuck me, I pause to mouth your chosen tiles and stick to one,
maybe he watched my lips a little too strongly,
maybe I did not care at all,
maybe there are things much easier to spell with with no tiles or letters at all.
° PLANTED °
I know you,
like a seed
knows the soil,
a leaf the sun,
reaching for sky.
Two months from now it would have been one year since we have known each other. It would have been like wonders, it would have been beautiful, it would have been magical, we would’ve been lucky, the luckiest to have each other ,to have ourselves by our sides loving and caring and cherishing and staring at each other instead of the abyss, supporting each other through the bad and good, sad and happy ,the worst and the best, set apart from the rest - of the world.
You missed it all, you missed it all.Your Cinderella never reached the ball.
Oh boy, I had felt joy, I had felt it immensely.

Settling within the lungs,
It’s is nothing they say.
The rest, well, your old.
Lived a good life,
Want to do more?
Should have done when you could,
too late now.
The lid ain’t done yet, folks!
from my book Sunflowers Don’t Grow In Da Ghetto
Mourning the living🥀
This was written about a friend who moved away. I believe we are all that friend at some point in our lives.

So many tears shed in the dark of night,
hidden away in our private thoughts
only to be shelved with morning’s first light.
Because of no courage to speak of the pain,
this part of our lives remains the same…
Mothers and Fathers, Sisters and Brothers
gather for holidays they hope will heal,
while gathered together sharing a meal,
what they bring, back from the past,
perhaps they’ll be able to bed it, at last.
Years of analysis, a lifetime of good,
can be shattered with just one word,
maybe a look, or gesture of scorn;
any of which destroys years of progress,
all the good overturned.
At least that’s what I’m told
over and over again…
I sit by a letter, addressed to my sister,
no courage to post it, no guts to muster.
I’ve written the things I needed to say;
will she get my meaning or stray away
into her own thoughts to calm her that day?
thoughts of comfort, truth not portrayed.
Touching you is dangerous.
It feels like the air before the storm, and smells like the first drops of rain on dirt; it’s like the sea pulled back, an arrow in the bow, before the typhoon;
Every inch of your skin holds so many cells containing the genetic information that makes you
Who you are, who you were, who you could and should have been;
A glancing kiss on your skin and I have touched a multitude;
You think a crown is heavy; how much more it is loving a woman,
How much more the weight of her touch;
A thousand hands…held in a single palm.

“Will we see the blah
Will we hear the
Will he read the blah
500 words or less blah
The word of the day
474 more to go blah blah blah
I just have to copy blah blah blah
He reads it blah blah blah
453 more to go blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah
I lost count blah blah
P.S. blah blah blah blah blah blah
Thank you for the blah blah”
Someday we will embrace once more;
And in the pulse of my arteries and the flowing of my veins you will hear my heart whisper;
