❶ It’s important to be able to have the awareness and recognition of your emotions and the feelings that you experience. the next step would be trying to recognize these feelings/emotions in a way that’s non-judgemental, patient, and kind. It’s a skill that will always be in progress so don’t fret about being perfect all the time, you’re only human.

When you were five years old, the whole world revolved around you, your dreams, and your fantasies.
You could hold long conversations with inanimate objects, and you could insert yourself into fascinating fairy tales. Dancing to the lovely music in your mind, you could waltz around illusionary ballrooms with nonexistent princes and princesses in faraway enchanted palaces hidden somewhere in the depths of your mind. You could give yourself magical powers and pretend that you were a hero or a villain, a warrior or a fairy.
Everyday, you ran around laughing and playing with your imaginary friends. They were close with you, almost as much as your parents and far more than your real friends. Every adult you met grinned when they heard you chatting with your imaginary friends, and sometimes they even praised you. “What a bright child… what a creative imagination!”
You were afraid of the dark, where the vile and wicked monsters were, but your parents always battled them with you and you would be safe.
Mom and Dad always understood you. They always listened to your tales and fantasies. It was perfectly normal, after all, for a small child to have a wild imagination.
