    i really want to get into wearing skirts. i think i have 3 skirts but i’ve only worn 2 of them, one is leather and one is a knitted soft style. i want a few more so i can really try to wear them more.

    And! I'm starting a new form of thinking this year. I'm gonna start trying to prioritize myself in a lot of my relationships! It's gonna be MAJORLY hard to not be the bitch that texts first or puts others feelings first, but I am gonna try my BEST and put effort into doing it!!!

    I've always had a tendency to be the "mother" even in my romantic relationships and I want to still be that person you can come to and talk to, but I also want to make it clear that that's not all I'm good for and that I want YOU to make an effort to show ME we're bros too and actively invite me and junk!!!

    I'm REALLY hopeful in trying to twist my brain around that way! It's gonna be SUPER hard but I need to find that middle ground!

    Week two

    What was something good that happend this week?

    ... It's kind of dumb and just a small thing: This week I bought a eyebrow razor for a few bucks at my local drugstore and I'm so surprised it did work so well on the first try. I thought I would cut myself accidentally or it wouldn't shave good enough. But I'm so positively surprised and I really hope my overpluked eyebrows will somehow take less demanding now.

    Lets maintain our new year goals!!

    set realistic goals ♡

    - ex: instead of just saying “i’m going to workout everyday” say i will workout at least 3x a week that way you do not feel guilty when you missed one day plus it is way more sustainable working out whenever it fits your schedule

    make a timeframe ♡

    - ex: if you want to lose weight or whatever, its better to set a timeframe like saying you want to lose ___ amount of weight by summer or by your birthday or some date/time. this way you will look forward and be motivated to actually do what you want to do. of course if weight is your goal understand that you can not lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time and again to keep it realistic

    make a vision board ♡

    - vision boards are so cute and fun and for some people seeing their goals visually helps them to actually do it

    write your goals ♡

    - having goals written down really does help as it makes it clear what you want in an organized way

    ... This week I discovered a really interesting podcast, called "Ist das noch gesund?" (eng. "Is this still healty?"). It's mainly about mental and body health. The podcast is super interesting and I learned a lot during the first episodes, that I listed to, about the human skin and that it doesn't really need any skin care.

    Self-Concept Work (Day 7)

    Happy New Year!

    Today was definitely a lazy day of reflection. It's rainy and temperate where I'm at so not a lot was going on outside today. I started my day, upon waking, with my affirmations and said them again mid-day.

    Today was a bit of a struggle keeping my mind off of negative things (not pertaining to me specifically, but just negative things in general).

    I worked out today and I think I've found my sweet spot for physically intense workouts to be between 3:30 to 6:30 pm. I have to work that out on how it will look during the weekdays, but since I'm still 100% remote with my 9-to-5 job, I don't think it should be too much of an issue. Yoga and Pilates work best for me when I do them in the morning as soon as I wake up.

    I must admit. Working out helps me also be more aware of my thoughts, more confident in my affirmations, and just feel better all around. That's a no-brainer for people who are already fit, but for those of us just starting our journey, revelations like this are amazing.

    Goals for January 2022

    I've decided to make my goals for January fairly straightforward. The journey to 100% vegan keto is going to take awhile and I'm ok with that. A phased approach, at least at this point, will likely work best for me. So here are my goals:

    Continue doing daily work to improve my self-concept (affirmations, etc.)

    Aim to eat meat free for 85% of my meals this month

    Create and implement a workout routine that I enjoy

    Working on my pretty

    A simple fold-out desk was purchased from Amazon to be a vanity. Not being a makeup girl, I want and need to start! A tri-fold makeup mirror was also purchased. I have no time this weekend, but I'll set everything up next weekend and post it😄

    Since I'm all about learning so I can level up, I've booked a 1:1 Beginner Makeup class with a local makeup artist who has done my makeup before--it's a one time 3 hours class. She's a Black woman so I don't have the usual fears about her not understanding how to match foundation and concealer to my skin, etc. I always suffer from anxiety whenever a non-Black makeup artist approaches me in Sephora, Ulta, or at the M.A.C counter (for those rare occasions in the past when I had a desire to purchase makeup). The class is later this month and I'll definitely let y'all know how it goes!

    My lack of desire truly stems from lack of knowing how to do my own makeup. I have several Pinterest boards filled with women with their makeup beautifully done.

    Oh, I've also scheduled to have a facial and wax this month. I had start implementing monthly visits to a local esthetician in September 2021, but work got crazy last month so I had to cancel my appointment. I enjoyed that monthly routine.

    Here's to stepping outside of my comfort zone and moving forward, one strategic step at a time, towards the life of my wildest dreams!🥂

    Since mid-2020, I have been stretching almost religiously every evening. Most of the time my routine lasts between at least 15 and 20 min up to half an hour, the focus mainly on legs and upper back. Last fall I stopped stretching due to all the stress and I felt it a lot in my body. On top I lost quite a bit of my progress due to the long break. Since stretching is incredibly relaxing and fun for me, I want to start doing it again.

    How to make it work: Keep a checklist

    Goal: Put my hands on the floor when bending forward

    Fascia rolling

    Sydney Cummings has a few videos on faom rolling in her stretching playlist and I've read many times on the internet that rolling is supposed to help you become flexible and relax your muscles. I would like to try this and luckily my mom already owns some of these rollers, so I don't have to buy any. So far it had always put me off how painful rolling is, but presumably that extreme pain eventually goes away and the kind of pain, you feel then, feels good. I'm also looking forward to switch up my stretching routine for a change.

    How to make it work: Put in the calendar an evening "foam rolling" instead of stretching

    Goal: More flexibility


    Classically, I also have a New Year's resolution to start exercising again, to build up my strength and endurance from the summer. My plan is to do Pilates or a walk once or twice a week, but the main thing is that I move more. As soon as the temperatures get warmer I would also like to go jogging again to improve my endurance and reach my old average time of 40min for 3km.

    How to make it work: Add appointments to the calendar

    Goal: More strength

    Brush teeth in the evening

    This topic is a bit embarrassing, but I often have the problem that I don't brush my teeth in the evening on particularly bad days. In addition, I often eat late in the evening and snack and thereby the teeth brushing also somehow goes down. That I could lose my teeth is one of my biggest fears, so it really annoys me that I don't get this problem under control and that's exactly why I must finally go to me consistently in the evening to brush my teeth and not just make it to me.
