Ty Segall “Sentimental Goblin” 2017. Suicide Squeeze Records. 2 song “EP” (total misnomer: it’s a 7″ single with two A-sides since neither is technically a “single”), purple/pink limited edition variant. Side A has “Pan,” a fuzzed-out psychedelic heavy garage rocker, very Ty. Side B’s “Black Magick” is considerably more laid-back: still fuzzy but more sweetly melodic and psychedelic in the tripped-out Sgt. Peppers 60′s style. Both songs are great but this little bite of vinyl definitely has me wanting more (I mean, Segall is ridiculously and notoriously prolific so it’s not like I really need more releases, just more from this train of thought).

Live Footage: METZ Performs "Pulse" Live at Toronto's Opera House

Live Footage: METZ Performs "Pulse" Live at Toronto's Opera House @metztheband @subpop @subpoplicity @OPERAHOUSETO

Throughout the course of this site’s 11 year history, I’ve spilled copious amount of virtual ink covering Toronto-based punk trio and JOVM mainstays METZ. The JOVM mainstays’ fourth album, last year’s Atlas Vending found the band setting a goal for themselves and for the album before they set to work on it: they wanted to make a much more patient and honest album, an album that invited repeated…

My Sploon 3 Idol concepts, Aquine and Tritani.

Aquine is a Splatsville native with one goal in their life: to become a punk rock star. They are intelligent and peppy, but also blunt and a bit hyperactive. They met Tritani at a record shop in Splatsville. They like Pulpy Orange Juice, Cold Breakfast, Marshmallows, Ninjas, and Pancakes.

Tritani was once agent 3. They tried being a DJ, but Punk Rock albums by bands like The Bottom Feeders, Fallout Buoy, All Tide Low, Bikini Krill, Squid Squad, Panic! at the Splatfest, and other punk rock bands piqued their interest. After getting a mohawk and moving to Splatsville, They went into a record shop and found a blue haired Octoling with a sidecut and a ponytail.

The two then bought Wet Floor and Joan Jetsam records, and Tritani was revealed to be Aquine’s new roomate. They started recording and writing songs together, and they called their band Chaotic Thrill. Aquine noticed Tritani’s heterochromia, so to make them feel better, they started wearing one gold contact.

[Image Description: An Octoling and Inkling Punk-Rock duo is posing in front of an orange and blue gradient background.  The Octoling is on the left and posing with a metal hand gesture and a limp wrist. The Inkling is posing with their legs crossed and one hand in a downwards fist and the other with a limp wrist. The Octoling has blue hair in a sidecut with a low ponytail. They have a spiked choker and blue tartan shorts with zippers. They also have a Marylin Monroe style beauty mark and an auqa ear cuff. The Inkling has an orange mohawk, a choker with a crescent moon charm, a fake ear gauge, and a tartan miniskirt with a gold chain. They have a Marylin Monroe style beauty mark as well. Both have eyebrow piercings, leather vests, demonia-style platform boots, tights and shirts in their respective colors, microphones, and fingerless leather gloves. The octoling has an orange left eye, and the inkling has an aqua right eye. End of Description.]

Music Video: Giovannie & the Hired Guns - Ramon Ayala

Music Video: @gioandtheguns - Ramon Ayala Texas rockers' new video brings "Hot for Teacher" into the new century for their latest country-punk single @MissingPieceGrp #newmusic #musicvideo #rock #punk #country #hotforteacher #RamonAyala

When old feels new again. That’s a phrase that could be used to describe Stephenville, TX band Giovannie & the Hired Guns. Fronted by Mexican-American Giovannie Yanez, the group’s built a die-hard following that has led to them garnering millions of streams and numerous sold out shows, while garnering them comparisons to the bands that ruled the airwaves in the late 90’s and early 00s. A rock…
