They're the same gay picture.
Raeda angst...I fear that it's coming
while it has multiple meanings, Antirrhinum majus, or the snapdragon, can represent passion, strength, and love
the owl house s2 ep7 “eda’s requiem” // mitski “goodbye my danish sweetheart”
Lilith suffering while Eda and raine have the longest friends to lovers slow burn I’ve ever seen is my new favorite thing
Gay ppl on my mind
Ok, but when Raine does the hand thing
RIP to Raine's violin 😔
i really wanted to draw raine (present day) in a semi detailed way so here it is! i was planning to draw them w a violin but... that failed :')
i really should practice anatomy and positions bc i have no clue as to how to do them
the lighting was fun, and honestly it may be my favorite step in drawing... i keep trying to do sunlight even when there logically cant be any (like in this picture)
oh well... maybe ill draw a forest in the background or something
but now i have to sleep
I cant stop thinking about how soft Eda's gonna be with Raine after she gets them back. After nearly losing them, she's gonna be thrown into full express emotions mode. Eye opening events and all that
It cracks me up when someone says "aww they're besties" or "they're childhood friends" referring to Luz/Amity or Eda/Raine
I mean, darling, have you lost your eyes?
The idea for a Hadestown au of these two has been bouncing around my head like a rogue ping pong ball
Eda has two hands!
That means she can hold Raine’s and Camila’s hand.
Stop unfollowing me, I could be Raine Whispers
Wanted to draw Raine x Eda angst and something wholesome, so did a combination of both.
Warning for mentions of Eda’s Requiem and the thought process behind both Raine and Eda playing the song.
A Raeda fic
Light filtered through the stained glass window of Eda’s room, signalling the rise of the sun. It was morning in the boiling isles, and morning meant it was time to wake up.
Morning didn’t mean it was time to get up.
Eda stared blankly at the ceiling, blankets tangled around her. They’d been kicked around by Raine, who, if their heavy breathing was anything to go by, had been having a nightmare. They’d settled down a long while ago, plenty long enough for Eda to get proper sleep, but not before waking up, wide eyed, and wrapping themself around the taller witch.
Speaking of, Eda flexed her right hand. It tingled. Her arm was more asleep than any other part of her, apparently.
She stared, and stared, and stared, thinking of nothing, then of too much, then of Raine, then of the nightmare.
(Wide eyes without glasses, hands patting gently but quickly against her face, fingers brushing her gem, Raine relaxing, then pressing against Eda’s chest, their own body still shaking. Lying back down, whispering something, anything, to them. Eda tracing a claw around their head and swirling down their neck until they both fell asleep.)
The sun had risen further, and Eda’s gem reflected morning light directly into Raine’s face.
Raine’s hand shifted to cover the gem, a smooth movement that didn’t belong to someone who’d only just woken up. Eda couldn’t help her laugh.
“How long have you been awake, rainstorm?”
Raine smiled, face flushing only a bit. “A while, if I’m honest. You’re just…” They sidled up closer. “So warm.”
Eda grinned, turning to press her lips against Raine’s forehead. “That’s sweet.”
(Somewhere underneath her spoken words, she said, “I love you.”)
(Somewhere in Raine’s peck to Eda’s lips, they said, “I love you too.”)
It was silent in the room, then. Raine’s hand felt for Eda’s heartbeat, and Eda felt Raine’s breath against her neck. For a while, they just existed.
Raine was the one to break it.
Eda tilted her head to look over at them as a response.
“You know you’re loved… right?”
Eda’s eyes flickered down to meet Raine’s for barely a moment. A moment was enough.
Raine’s hand moved up to Eda’s neck, turning her face to meet their own. They sounded softer now, sad, now. “You know that, right?”
Eda closed her eyes and pressed her forehead against theirs. “I know. I know, because I know Lily loves me, and I know Hooty loves me, and I know the kids love me, and-“
“The kids definitely love you,” Raine interrupted, an airy laugh escaping them. “I’m glad you know that now.”
Something in Eda clicked, and she frowned. “Is that what this is about?”
Raine averted their eyes, and Eda felt their hand comb through her hair. Their brushing was methodic, and while it felt nice, Eda could guess the motion was more for them then her.
It was silent for too long.
“Eda.” Their voice was firm, but their eyes were pleading. “It’s not easy to just… get over that. Get over… You wanted to-“ They glanced at the gem embedded in Eda’s chest. “I wanted to make- I wanted to make sure you knew we love you.”
I wanted to make sure you knew I love you.
Eda rose slowly, bringing Raine up with her. “I wasn’t the only one that played that song, you know.” Her hands cupped Raine’s face as she spoke. Softly: “Are you okay?”
“You love me,” Raine said, and didn’t add more. (Nothing of their mother, and nothing of their father. Not a word of their crew and not a word of the children downstairs.)
“I love you,” Eda agreed. (She would find them more. She would give them more. She could promise them more. She wasn’t the only one who loved them. She could show them that.)
They didn’t move from their place, but later, Raine was pressed against Eda’s chest, and her lips were buried in their hair.
“You’re loved,” Raine murmured, hands wrapping around her waist.
Eda dragged a finger around their ear, as if tucking a lock of hair out of their face.
It was more than a promise.
