Upcycling. Turning these two duvet covers into a patchwork quilt. Progress so far. It’s so rewarding turning unwanted items into beautiful things. As they say, ‘one mans junk is another mans treasure’.
Upcycled Hollister jeans created into a bag. I’m getting good at this sewing malarkey. Another craft mastered. Now what to make next? 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Why did we ban straws but like not junk mail??? It wastes so much paper! As soon as I see a flyer it goes straight to the trash! It’s a pain to sort through too!
Great information for everyone!!!

START RECYCLING. One of the only good things about being on this planet is nature. So take an extra minute to start a recylables bag. It’s the smallest damn thing you could do. We need less people, not less nature.

The environment is always our concern. We have recycling programs. Unfortunately, it is only because it allows us to ignore our throw away habits. If we are really serious and sincere in cleaning up our environment, then there are many other approaches.
People only change when they are directly affected. Then, real, sustainable fixes are implemented. This is basic human understanding.
Society needs the average person to really get on board. Then, the real impact begins.
All society has to do is to have one simple change: charge, for example, a one dollar fee for each and every plastic cup, paper plate, plastic food container, plastic fork, and so on. Wander over to the local fast food and cafes’ garbage bins and you will see hundreds of bags full of these throw away items.
Just like in the health community, prevention is stronger than curing the disease.
But, we use these plastic and paper utensils and justify it because we recycle them. What nonsense! Not to have them in the first place is the only way.
Then, the average person will directly feel what it means to be environmentally friendly as whenever one goes to a McDonald and orders a meal, there will be a $5 charge just on the utensils. People will then bring their own plates and utensils.
A simple idea to get everyone on board. Will it happen? Has to be a large enough fee as twenty cents as a bottle deposit on a soft drink does not do it.
The true hidden cost is our throw away habits.

Jaan’la pipetleri geri dönüştürerek bilezik yaptık.Sonradan Obchoy da kendi kendine katıldı.Çocuklar bitmiş projedense sürecin kendisiyle daha ilgililer.İkisi de bilezikle ilgilenmedi, çünkü orada olup beraber bileziği yapıyor olmak onlara yeterince tatmin veriyor.
We made bracelets out of recycled plastic straws with Jaan.Obchoy joined in later on by herself. Kids are more interested in the process of making something rather than a finished project. Neither of them were interested in the bracelet. It was already satisfying to be there and to be making the bracelet.
I need a second trashcan in my room for recycling

This is my very first blog post on my Non-Violent Communication project. I definitely consider recycling being a form of non violence because it is about my actions towards the environment and acting with peace. I am slowly taking baby steps into reducing waste around my house as well as when I am out. To start, I have been googling ways I can reduce and surprisingly a lot of stuff has come up. I hope I could break this habit and start reducing more!
My basis to take on this project is to encompass a non violent communication approach to help with the environment. I want to take a peaceful approach to help not only myself but the environment we live in! I have already gotten a cool stainless steel insulated water bottle where I can use for both cold and hot. I no longer have to bring water bottles and coffee cups anymore.
I think it’s about time we gave back to our community
