I'd say I'm sorry for not being active here for however long it's been, but I'm kind of not. I still post once in a while to my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/tgtrlqueen) if you happen to be interested.
2020 already wasn't doing my mental health any favors (if you're able to get vaccinated, fucking do it!), and the Freddie discourse that was going on in my feed wasn't helping anything to the point where even listening to Queen was really stressing me out, so walking away from Tumblr and taking a break sadly felt like the right call.
This wasn't a, "I'm right and so many of you are wrong!" storm-out, but a, "This is all fucking with me because I've spent the majority of my life being so emotionally invested, and neither me nor my therapist likes that I'm devoting entire sessions to talking about the shit show going on [at the time]." I feel the need to make that clear because a lot of people think that setting boundaries for yourself and others is a failing or a weakness. No person should have to endure something that's not good for them just because. For instance, there are reasons why Queen took a break in 1983.
Does this post mean I'm back? I don't know. I've made that promise a couple other times, so I won't make it this time. Part of me wants to pick things back up, part of me doesn't. I started my blog initially because I want/wanted to engage with other Queen fans. And yeah, that's going to come with strong differences of opinion in a lot of places that hopefully result in interesting discussions, but I don't personally want to be in or contribute to what was feeling like the climax of Mean Girls times a million (keep in mind that anxiety and depression distort things, so take that with a grain of salt), and I don't want to feel like what I put out there will only exist in a vaccuum. So, I guess we'll see?
At any rate, I appreciate all the folks who follow me... Unless you're spam, porn spam, one of those weird racist/homophobic/biphobic/transphobic/conservative/Tr*mp-supporting types. In which case, I invite you to fuck all the way off.

Question: Does anyone know why Brian was photographed with netting over his face in this picture?
Yoinked from @melisa-may-taylor72‘s wonderful post about Mick Rock’s photo exhibit, here (go look! there are several lovely pictures like the one above).
I’ve seen this picture in other posts, and I always go through the tags and replies to see if anyone has mentioned it, but I’ve never seen anything, and I never think about it until I see it again.
K, just did a quick google on this...didn’t see anything. And! I thought at first it was a watermark or something, but when you zoom in, it does appear to be netting. So...WHY? Drop that knowledge on me if you have it.
Don’t make me @ Mr. Rock about it. Though...if he has them enabled, he’d probably respond to a politely-worded ask, methinks? We may just find out.
