Achievement Hunter participates in the “Adopt an Angel” tree and buys gifts for children whose families are down on their luck.
Bunch good lads (and Gents) doing good things.
Great time to remind people that if you don’t wanna use Youtube to watch RT-related content cause of them being Youtube, RT has everything like RWBY, RvB, Camp Camp, Achievement Hunter, their podcasts, etc on their site and MANY of them are free. Heck, you can watch RWBY V7 exclusively on there with only a one week delay for Free episodes right now! There ARE ads, but no more than what Youtube forces you through. Wanna keep watching tuff that you enjoy and still support the people making it but without dealing with Youtube’ crap? Go to RT’s site.
These are the faces of betrayal
The Move That BROKE Our Brains - Coup Reformation - Let’s Roll
Looking through Tumblr a short while back and through my posts, I have been wondering about making my blog a multi-fandom one or just changing its direction almost entirely.
It would be great in that I don’t have to focus on Winx Club and its forsaken direction as much - at least there’s other IP out there that’s got a better creative direction.
It doesn’t help that everywhere online and possibly online too outside of Italy kind of rubs it in how obscure the Winx Club fandom is - I do want it to get bigger, but it just won’t, for reasons which I’m not sure are related to just its shitty creative direction from Season 5.
I have trouble getting into other, like fandom stuff. Even if copyright law got better and everything wasn’t only on streaming services (i.e. letting us keep the stuff we pay for), there are personal reasons as to why I can’t really get into other fandoms.
Much of this involves something like envy for characters, which may be exemplified by shows such as RWBY (and even Rooster Teeth’s previous IP, Red vs. Blue). I’ve managed to get over my envy of pretty much everyone in Winx Club save for at least Bloom in a few occasions - I don’t know how I’m going to deal with everything else. I already can’t play games or get into the lore of like Overwatch and Destiny 2 because of envy.
Some fandoms or other interest groups may be plainly problematic. Fandoms such as those for Winx Club and Miraculous Ladybug have their problems with racism and heteronormativity (even calling for deaths of non-heterosexuals in extreme cases), but I imagine especially in gaming spaces for this problem to be multiplied like tenfold, since few people who play games are as woke as this space.
I could try and get into more “productive” interests like game development, 3D modelling and/or AI, but it’s gonna stress me out more than inspire me considering the personal issues I’m going through (especially with more professional environments), and the fact that I’m a university student too as I write this.
If that’s not a problem, I find many fandoms and/or interest groups hard to relate to. I like Winx Club’s unique combination of young adult characters, a 2000s sound and vibe (and it actually taking place from then in the first 3 or 4 seasons), a relatively gender non-conforming design from its characters, a few sci-fi elements and some world building; this is a far cry from what I’ve seen others who like Winx Club love the series for, I believe. I can’t find any other series I can expect to keep on DVD with the same sort of jackpot.
I already post about emo and 2000s stuff but I can only feel envy for some of the people featured in the photographs or some people who run such blogs too, and sad for today otherwise since we no longer have the music, technology, fashion and vibe that once was that we could keep.
Responses are gladly appreciated if you are able.
Messing around with my drawing tablet and I got Rimmy inspiration. And I really love Chump so much already. Go Jeremy!
