1 Timothy 3:1-3 (KJV)1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

Deuteronomy 7 The intention was that the people of Israel as well as the land must be holy and belong completely to the Lord. Both must be consecrated with all impurities removed. And consecrated can be defined “to devote irrevocably to God by a solemn ceremony.” No other God initiates a love relationship with a people of His choosing. I appreciate how the NLT translates verse 9, particularly the word “lavishes”. God is immensely generous: Deuteronomy 7:9 “Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.“ I sometimes hear the complaint that God does not tell us exactly what we must do. We think we would like to have a contract from God stating exactly what He expects of us. Deuteronomy 7 reads like such a contract. If we place ourselves in the sandals of the Israelites hearing these commands, would we be happy to get such specific instructions? Are we prepared for God to ask us to do something difficult or seemingly impossible? The blessings of obedience sound great, but what if we fail? One of Pastor Shane’s favorite words is, “remember”. See how many times you can spot this or similar word in the next couple of chapters. Remember the great news that is found in verse 21: “No, do not be afraid of those nations, for the LORD your God is among you, and he is a great and awesome God.”

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.” -Matthew 16:24
I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. #verseoftheday #bible #scriptureoftheday #jesus #jesuslovesyou #jesuschrist #jesusisalive #jesusitrustinyou #jesuschristlovesyou #jesuschristoursavior #jesuschristismysavior #christian #christians #christianlouboutins #scripture #verse #christianity #christ #bibleverse #biblescripture (オープン・ドア・チャペル) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQSHmkGHzIp/?utm_medium=tumblr

Honey In My Mouth
Ezekiel 3:3 He said to me, “Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your body with this scroll which I am giving you.” Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth. Ezekiel 3:10 He said to me, “Son of man, take into your heart all My words which I will speak to you and listen closely.” Psalm 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste!Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! ✝ —HE’D LIKE TO THINK HE HAS SOME MANNER OF INSTINCT when it comes to danger at this point. But, admittedly, he’s easily distracted, and has tunnel vision when it comes to helping someone in need. Or, well, a creature in need. He’s darted over to a sprung bear trap, mere seconds dedicated to losing it to allow the stray dog trapped inside out, when he heard a growl from the trees. Laera shouted something before she was shoving him - and the dog he’d started to pick up, out of the way, soon after an OWLBEAR slamming into her with the force of a rolling boulder.
Thankfully, her shield has taken a good bit of the blow, but he’s still scrambling up to assist.
A Celestial curse, and he shoos the dog to hide as he runs to her, stabbing a syringe into her shoulder, a cure wounds spell passing into her following arcane words.
I am thankful that he left the ninety and nine for me. How my heart does rejoice.
