Usagi and Seiya or Usagi and Mamoru? 🥺
From episode 45, Sheer Terror! Adrift in Another Dimension
Shiryu please, your just saying this because your sappy towards Seiya…
So, I have recently come across a comment, that again asked a very interesting question, and I’d like to expand on it.
So, why the hell IS the Pegasus Saint only a Bronze Saint? Shouldn’t he, if he were always so close to Athena, have some special rank of sorts? Should his Cloth carry not more power than it does, than only a mere Bronze Cloth? I mean yeah, a Saint’s power doesn’t solely rely on his Cloth, but also his Comos. But still, lower-ranked Cloths are by fact weaker than the stronger ones, break faster. It makes no sense at all. On that, I fully agree with those who already pointed out this discrepancy.
And, given that: Shouldn’t be the appearance of a new Pegasus Saint be a way bigger deal than it is portrayed as? Shouldn’t a Saint winning the Pegasus Saint be accompanied by, like, some festivities of sorts, if he IS such an important Saint to Athena? Especially in the light that it seems mainly to be the Pegasus Saints taking care of Hades in the Holy Wars. And I cannot believe that such a fact would be overlooked, what with the occasional Saint living 200+ years.
Plus, in the Classic Saga, given that it seems to be known in Sanctuary that the Pegasus Saint was always at the side of Athena, shouldn’t at least some Saints get suspicious when seeing the Pegasus Saint, Seiya, fight alongside a woman claimed to be an impostor? Shouldn’t that get some of them thinking that she might actually be the real Athena?
The only spin-off who does have characters react to inheriting the Pegasus Cloth as something special is Omega… But only as far back as Seiya, his legendary status because of his deeds, and not to a single Pegasus Saint before him. Oh, and I forgot that Tenma is called the godslayer in Lost Canvas, so there’s at least that… but aside from that, his Cloth is still Bronze, and he is still treated as a Bronze Saint.
This is btw by no means a slight against Bronze Saints. But fact is, they are the weakest class among Saints. One in which the Pegasus should have no business being in.
“Seiya. I’m not letting you die here alone!”
here’s your bone, hope it’s good enough for you guys to chomp on in the meantime
also if you know how to connect the dots the plant is the most revealing thing about this lmao
- Seiya vs Cassius -
Sailor Moon Stars is my very favorite Season of Sailor Moon, it felt like a huge step up from Sailor Moon Super S, which felt like a huge Step down from Sailor Moon S.
The season feels a bit more mature but it also shows Usagi’s wonderful developments from the last 4 seasons. She’s no longer a cry baby that needs to be saved during a battle, she’s the one saving them.
The Starlights feel like a great edition to the cast, there not as strong. As the other-Sailor Senshi but are stronger then the inner-Senshi so it doesn’t feel like there being written to be much better characters. And Seiya’s chemistry with Usagi is addorbale, and it’s a shame that the writers did Mamoru so dirty in the anime because a lot of fans who only grew up with the 90s anime prefer Seiya over Mamoru for a reason.
It’s also an overlooked season because it took 20 years for it to get an official English dub. Meaning a lot of English speaking only people missed out. I’m lucky had it early on subbed.
One of my favourite characteristics of Shiryu and Seiya’s relationship is that when they are apart, Seiya would have monologues(both internal and external) about Shiryu. It makes it look like Seiya wishes that he’s could share his thoughts and feelings with him.
From episode 90 of Saint Seiya: Don’t Turn Back, Seiya! Cosmo of the Rising Dragon
Alberich’s tries to distract Shiryu from his stance, by using his vulnerabilities aganist him.
