Lips generous and warm
You build me up like steps
Eyes innocent and wild
Remind me what it’s like, oh
And I could easily lose my mind
The way you kiss me will work each time
Pulling me back into the flames
And I’m burning up again, I’m burning up
And I, I never understood what was at stake
I never thought your love was worth it’s wait
Well now you’ve come and gone
I finally worked it out, I worked it out…
I have something to say about the current representation of asexuals in media, both in canon and fanon.
Recently I’ve noticed that a lot of either confirmed or headcanoned aspec characters in media are also the characters who have a lot ASD traits and are often confirmed to be on the Autism spectrum. I’m thinking specifically of Entrapta from Shera, Peridot from Steven Universe, Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, and Sherlock Holmes from BBC’s Sherlock (yeah I know some of these shows aren’t really current but bear with me). Now, individually these characters being both ace and having ASD is no problem, hell the intersectional representation of being LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse is AMAZING and I am so happy for everyone who can relate to these characters.
However, I fear that this crossover of identity aspects is becoming the ONLY representation of Aspec and ASD people, which is problematic. The emerging pattern of Ace and ASD representation being mutually exclusive endorses HARMFUL STEREOTYPES about both communities. It implies that:
it infantalises the Autistic community. It patronises the Aspec community. It invalidates and dehumanises both groups. It puts the worst of Aspec stereotypes onto Autistic people while simultaneously perpetuating ASD myths, and vice verse.
It isn’t bad to have aspec characters with ASD, but please please also represent other demographics. Have extroverted aces, aces with different types of neurodivergence, mentally healthy aces. Have pan Autistic people, gay Autistic people, trans Autistic people. Break harmful stereotypes.

Sometimes I imagine the crazy hard test Sheldon, Rajesh and Howard did just to find Sheldon a new girlfriend… was answered in min by Amy (If only she wasn’t on a date that day)
What IF SHELDON DID DATED VANESSA BENET???? nahh he rejected her cause she is not Amy… and deep inside he really was hoping Amy was at that door being able to solve the test knowing Amy can solve it….
sighhhh me and my SHAMY brain
Sheldon Cooper off of Big Bang Theory sort of reminds me of Herbert West in some ways- but more like a modern version of him.
“Oh, no. What have I done?”

A new SHAMY FANFIC. When Sheldon’s precious schedule is disrupted by missing a haircut, how will he function? Will the Chaos consume him or will he be able to balance the scales and find his footing again? Where does the music take him???? https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13630513/1/Home
Okay so I just found this article that made me galaxy brain and it is about how ASD is used as a gimmick in shows and I’m going to reblog with a link so it shows up in the tags. It talks about how they use the savant with “quirky” characteristics as a plot device and fetishises a real disorder, and it mentions examples of characters as well (I will be tagging those mentioned)! Also, it was posted in 2014 and yet still carries on to today.
I also want to give a tw for a brief mention of Benedict Cumberbatch for those that are uncomfortable/triggered/etc. with his ableist comments he made in the past.
If we were an old married couple
Crazy idea (if someone is up to making a one shot of it why not?!)
After prom the clean up crew went to clean up the place but decided to ditch the lonely girl to clean up all by herself cause… just cause.
The DJ took pity on her so he played “woman in red” just for her while she dance with the mop, twirling it around as she swayed with the music. Unbeknownst to her a lanky tall pale guy was watching her behind the shadows holding a calculus book. Entrance by the way she swayed her hips side to side and how comfortable she is all alone in the dance floor.
