My poor beautiful cousin who has a heart of gold ended up having to marry some selfish, mediocre, mamma's-boy toad just because he has a house and a could give her "security".
The man is so dry, picky, and difficult to get along with that her hair is falling out from the stress.
Meanwhile everyone thinks she should just be grateful that he's not a drug addict, violent, or worse.
Why did she have to marry? Cause Iran is a place where women's rights and opportunities mean nothing and literally nothing can be done without a man's permission. She can't work for a living. She can't be independant. She needs a man's say so just to leave the country ffs.
Fuck patriarchy. Down with all the bullshit women have had to deal with since the dawn of time.
i am crying on the floor, rocking back and forth [...] / and russ walks over, crying as well / ‘cause he heard me shouting how much i hate myself / he said “no, not you! no, not you! you make us all so happy. you know that, don’t you?” [...] / i’m so emotional, i felt unlovable / but they love me so dearly i must just be wrong [...] / there’s a picture of ben smiling so sweetly / didn’t know i took a photo, he just looked up to see me
(bears in trees, 'ibuprofen', keep me safe ep)
I'm honestly so happy rn
❝ we’re about as good as gone, you know, if mr. wright does decide to come looking for us. the look on his face alone —. ❞ or rather, the look in his eyes — those piercing, scrutinizing eyes, the likes of which elias would quite like nothing more than to avoid the near-omniscient gaze of at all costs. in no small terms, they scare him. the man himself as well, he supposes, but the manner in which the cold, steely gaze of those greys manage to look both at and through him all at once ... that was where the true fear lay. ( mr. wright’s are the eyes of his father, elias thinks, or damn near enough to it: narrowed and harsh and calculating as he sized his son up time and time again through childhood, seething as said son once again failed to meet the unimaginably high standards set before him. ) the day of his interview with james wright has stuck with him to this day, and even now he swears he can feel that same, piercing gaze boring holes into the back of his neck as he and his company make their way into a particular section of the archives’ sprawling layout — one that has seen far better days, and far more use a long time ago.
yes, he would very much like to avoid the all-seeing eye of his employer, yet, here he stood, shirking his duties against better judgment. ( not that he doesn’t feel some slight sense of satisfaction, of exhilaration, from doing what he’s not supposed to. of course he does. ) for all his concerns, though, elias seems to note that his blond-haired companion adds no others in response. in fact ... ...
❝ michael — michael, are you even listening to a word i’ve said? ❞
@audaciiae : for the world of misery that lies ahead, let’s have this one moment
Thinking about some clown being like so you can say you're breathtaking. Only for Nina to just frown and be like. Come closer and you'll see.
