i wish someone else landed on the moon first like the nazis or soviets or something so we americans would talk about ethics in space travel and colonization more often instead of having elon musks

Corvettes & astronauts; a natural combination. Things kicked off when Alan Shepard, who became the first American in space in 1961 & the oldest to walk on the moon in ‘71, arrived at NASA for space training in 1959 with his ‘57 ‘Vette. After his historic first spaceflight, Shepard received a brand, new 1962 model. Gus Grissom, Gordon Cooper & Buzz Aldrin also began driving Corvettes. Then in 1969, Apollo 12 astronauts Alan Bean, Pete Conrad & Richard Gordon ordered 3 black and gold ‘Vettes to go with their Lunar Module colour scheme. Space age awesomeness.
Thanks for the tag! I was tagged by @oblolongue , who gave me the words nothing, comfort, embrace, finger. Like the last find-the-word I posted, this is a touch late, but better late than never, right? The excerpts are from 2 WIPs this time.
Nothing – Avalon:
“Any response from Houston?”
“No, the-there’s nothing! It’s jus- it’s just static! How is that even possible? All the satellites are in perfect working order!”
“It must be the anomaly. Whatever the hell it is, it’s interfering with our equipment.”
“Anomaly?” Gwain scoffed. “That’s no anomaly, Boss! That’s a fucking UFO-spitting, miniature blackhole, ready to tear this planet apart at the drop of a hat! Or hadn’t you noticed?”
Comfort – Avalon:
There was no comfort to be found here, in this barren red wasteland, where the very atmosphere was toxic. This Mars was nothing like the one Merlin had grown up on. And why would it be? The Mars he knew didn’t even exist yet.
Embrace – The Civil War of the Sea:
Peter squeezed his eyes shut, and in that moment, everything seemed to disappear. The cloying Magic of the Trident, the ropes biting into his wrists, even the weather stilled, as a distant voice- nothing more than a memory- whispered in his ear. “This is who you are, Peter. Embrace it. Embrace it, or it could destroy you.”
Finger – The Civil War of the Sea:
Peter watched Sid tap his fingers against the desk, mesmerised by the mindless rhythm the painted nails were setting. Though, knowing Sid, there was nothing mindless in that beat.
He looked back down at his phone. His lips twitched as he replied, ‘it’s either the notes to Mozart’s 5th symphony or his plans for world domination in morse code there’s no in between w/ him’
I’m tagging @kellenheller @justgregor @writingintherosegarden @vivian-is-writing, and anyone else who wants to do it! (As usual, no pressure guys). Your words are: heart, kill, night, chains.
That part of life when you want vacation instead of doing stupid job .....huhhhh

I have some questions.
1. How do time-travelers deal with the fact that things move?
2. Is there a bunch of time-travelers floating around in space because they forgot that planets move?
3. In what direction is the galaxy even going?
John Glenn makes his way for his historic Mercury Atlas 6 flight to become the first American to orbit Earth, Feb 1962. The spaceflight in his Friendship 7 capsule lasted 4 hours & 55 minutes, orbited Earth 3 times & was the 5th spaceflight in human history. He later flew in 1998 at age 77 on Space Shuttle Discovery on a 9 day, 20 hour mission to become the oldest human in space. What an amazing career in space.
NO WAY!: 70 Years Ago, ‘Elon’ Predicted to be the Name of Leader Associated with Colonization on Mars in Non-Fiction Book by German Rocket Engineer
By Daniel Webster dWeb.News
Several decades before Elon Musk was born, Elon and Mars were connected, by German aerospace engineer Wernher von Braun, responsible for creating Germany’s advanced weapon systems, the V-2 rocket— the first long-range guided ballistic missile in the world.
Wernher von Braun wrote The Mars Project, first published in 1953. Elon Musk wasn’t born until June 28, 1971.
This classic non-fiction book on space travel, was written when interplanetary space flight was considered science fiction by most of those who considered it at all.
He proposed that, instead of presidents on Mars, the rulers of the Mars colony would be appointed the title of “Elon.” Those living in the Mars colony would be considered “elonis.”

We will begin our maiden voyage aboard the L-229 as soon as the last of the crew joy us.
The crew is quite diverse. The captain is a Jundal, and their second in command a young Layconian! They seem to get along fine enough, all things considered, however I have spent very little time with them, as my rest cycles have yet to become adjusted to the rest of my diurnal crewmates.
Upon boarding the ship, I was fortunate enough to meet Commander Oraum, an Olaxium, head of engineering.
I have yet to meet the medic and the navigator, a U’Teran and a Vi’ble respectively, but I shall make an effort to sync up my resting cycles so that I may become accustomed to my crew.
As the Research Officer for this voyage, I shall not let my crew nor the Astral Corps down. I plan to collect information on all of the organisms and non-living planetary material we come into contact with upon our mission, and transcribe them in this field journal.
Once our final two crews members, a Quagar, assisting Commander Oraum, and a young Human, who will be in charge of piloting our vessel, arrive in three revolutions, we will begin our departure.
