A spongebob variant from Japan where our favorite little sea sponge is pink with blue squarepants (with occasionally heart shaped pupils)
There is also some merchandise for it.
Plushes, pins, figurines, puzzles, notebooks, etc
Though they are extremely rare to find. Even resell prices for some can be more than $150!

0Honestly the SB comics are pretty useful! There’s a whole back story and everything about mermaidman and barnacleboy. It’s more or less differing compared to the actual show but I like it.
You get to see them both more socialize and interact as people which we rarely see in the show.
Apparently there is edwardian mermaidman. The previous mermaidman and the current mermaidman was once his barnacleboy. To be a barnacleboy was meant to be a sort of apprentice type thing. So I kinda wonder why our barnacleboy never became the next mermaidman. He kinda just grew old with mermaidman.
Of course this is probably where the comics and the show diverge. We already have a canon episode of how they got their powers and real names. The comics takes things in different routes. They kinda ran with calling Barnacleboy Kyle regularly. He’s too nice to be called a Kyle😔
Anyways if you want mermaid man and barnacle boy lore I recommend the comics! Also they could get it
