if a player has the junkie trait they need whatever they’re addicted to to function, and often live; there is no “getting clean,” you just relapse because it’s a trait and therefore permanent
from my experience, the drug keeps the person alive and without it i think they build toxicity? because whenever i ran out and hadn’t had any of whatever my character was hooked on at the time and ended up in medbay, they marveled at how much toxin had built up (and subsequently blamed the drugs and told me not to take anymore… so i always end up back in medbay… because i’m pretty sure the junkie trait makes that work in reverse.)
you can check a person’s traits by examining them. it’s easy.
the only time i understand not providing drugs to a junkie is if it’s meth since, if you do that wrong, chemistry goes boom.
