During the cold weather some of you might remember me talking about the ‘ant fire cult’ aka the black ants who set up by our candle heater for warmth.  Rather than try to actively hunt them down, we figured they’d leave once the weather got warmer... And for a while, they actually did pick up, carry the young away and screw off. However! Much like how they were clustering around the candle setup for warmth during the winter, they’ve actually moved their young to underneath one of the fish tank air pumps! What’s cool about this is that it’s 100% open to the air and at head height on the exact same countertop.  They’re just doing nest things completely casually out in the open- I’m guessing they just don’t feel afraid because we don’t attack them, and they really really want that nice air flow for their larvae that much.

#text post#me rambling #ant fire cult #presently it's just a heap of little white ant larvae under there but some weeks the ants pick them up (maybe as cocoons?) #and dangle them upside down near the air intake #ant: babby wunt fresh airrrr? #I have no idea what they eat because we don't feed them #and they don't approach our food or kitchen at all they just live on that one shelf/counter #sometimes I see them coming up from drinking at the fish tank and I wonder if the water is JUST bioactive enough to sustain a micro colony #ant#ants#insects#invertebrates

I’ve been helping out at a local ranch and though it can be a little exhausting work sometimes (exacerbated by my region’s characteristic brutal heat OTL), it’s also something that I like doing. I’ve loved horses ever since I was a child and it’s nice and emotionally rewarding in a sense to work with them, learn more about them, and equestrianism in general.

The only problem is that I’ve never held a typical entry-level job, and of course volunteering at the ranch doesn’t pay (other than I guess technically through getting free lessons from the family) so it makes me feel bad because it doesn’t really contribute anything monetarily for me or my family.

I have filled out applications to countless places but to be honest, I feel a hidden sense of relief when I get rejected because I don’t think I can take the pressures of the typical entry-level job... Or at least, I know with certainty that I cannot perform as adequately as someone else whom can handle those pressures better (e.g., deciphering sentences of people’s orders with a headset and speaker for drive-thru service or maintaining tasks in a fast, rapid workflow for hours on end [and a bit of a petty, contemptible reason: I don’t like the idea of sacrificing my free time with a 9-to-5 job that doesn’t pay adequately enough for basic living; having to spend all day at work; and to be utterly exhausted to do anything else at the end of the day only to start the cycle all over again lol]). This realization isn’t even necessarily in a depressed way; of course there’s always going to be somebody more qualified at something than me -- or anyone -- and that isn’t what makes me sad. Idk it’s just kind of a looming fear that anything I do isn’t good enough because it doesn’t have any tangible output to justify it (i.e.: money).

I don’t know if it’s pessimistic philosophy or genuine depression.

Maybe said concepts are, in truth, one and the same.

    Who knows.

#bluealice.txt #got too long; we gettin' the read-more net lads #overall and in principle it sucks having to earn the right to stay alive and dignity through capitalistic means #which makes me feel like crap but... idk wcyd I guess #none of us chose to be given life but we're automatically born with the weight of debt to sustain it #I can't compensate for the burden I've accumulated #i cant pay back my right to live... #oops went a little depresso mode in the tags sorry #and in the end too lol #ask to tag

First herb harvest of the year! Everything's drying out right now, and gosh am I excited. The parsley and mint are both shooting up so fast, I hardly even know what to do with it! The catnip as well, especially now that it's on the porch. Hopefully the tarragon catches up soon! :D

Why do I have such an intense fear of failure? I know I've had it my whole life, it just manifested differently when I was younger.

I got an F on the first draft of a project, because I was so afraid of turning it in late and failing because it was late that I turned it in unfinished. Now I still have to turn it in late because I have to finish it still.

But I saw that F in the mass of As I've gotten this term and immediately wanted to drop out because I'm struggling.

And I know this is why I have my other class, it's supposed to teach us how to reach out for help and to push through hard situations when life and college clash. But I just don't have the mental ability to do that half the time.

If I could get medication or therapy to help, I would. But I don't make any money, I don't have insurance and free places aren't able to prescribe the type of anxiety medication I need. I don't want to use my girlfriend's money for that, we're already living on a tight budget.

My mental state isn't good enough to get a job again and we aren't planning on staying in the area long enough for me to get a long term job. And all of the temp agencies around here are a bust.

I don't know what to do anymore. I'm tired of being where I am, I'm tired of trying. Of having to try so hard.

I already fight with my brain 24/7, I don't need to fight other things too.

#i just wanna live on my own land and sustain myself by having my own everything #raise my own food #make my own stuff #i don't want to live in cities and interact with others #I don't want to fight with myself about not wanting to live

You know what else is funny about Cyberverse? Shockwave’s evil “make Bee think he’s a decepticon” plan. Like it should work on the surface, right? And for the first two minutes or so, it’s a solid and thought out logical plan. Sure Shockwave needs some acting lessons, but it’s not a bad plan. And then Wheeljack gets thrown out of an airlock and I’m like, ok Shockwave, you’re letting your weird revenge fantasies into the illusion. And then Ratchet comes along and Bee gets imprisoned, and ok, I guess we’re working on the logic that Bee is never going to meet up with the autobots ever again?? And then Bee gets sentenced to death, and then Optimus fucking chases him through the ship horror movie style, before stopping and being all like “ahah Bee my fellow decepticon now let’s kill everyone!” and like??? How did Shockwave think this plan was sustainable??? All they’ve got to do is meet up with OP one time and then the entire thing is blown??? Shockwave my man what are you doing? What is this plan??

#ok but seriously #what was up with OP? #Did Megatron get a say in the plan? #Did he get to look at the illusion and was like #Ok you lived out your weird revenge fantasy with Wheeljack #Now I get to live out my fantasy with Bee and OP both not hating me! #Shockwave my man for someone so focused on logic you seem to have very little of it yourself #But seriously how on earth did he ever think that fake memory was sustainable #Transformers#cyberverse#transformers cyberverse#tfc#maccadam#Bumblebee#Shockwave#Optimus Prime#S1 ep11#Sabotage

Bowenpally Vegetable Market - An Innovative Biogas Plant Set Up In Hyderabad.

Sustainable development is the need of the current times. Most of us have studied environmental conservation. Only a few of us inculcate the correct practices in our lives for the protection of the environment. The Hyderabad Bowenpally vegetable market has started an initiative of using vegetable waste as biofuel and electricity.

    Use of Electricity and Biogas

The electricity made is used to light up the market. The biogas is used by various vegetable vendors in their stalls. Biogas is eco-friendly and an economic substitute for LPG. The waste collected from the Mandi generates five hundred units of electricity and thirty kilograms of biofuel. They built the entire plant at a cost of approximately two to three crore.

The Layout And Design of the Plant

A Biomethanation plant has been set up for converting vegetable waste into biofuel and electricity. The layout and design for the plan were taken care of by Ahuja Engineering Services. They installed the plant under the guidance of Dr. A Gangagno Kao, chief scientist of CSIR-IICT.

    How Bio-methanation Plant Works?

Bio-methanation is the process of making biogas out of vegetable waste. In this process, organic waste is converted through anaerobic conditions using microorganisms. The vegetable waste is shredded. The shredded waste gets changed into a slurry. The slurry is put into large containers or pits where the process of conversion takes place.

    Advantages of Installing the Plant

The vegetable market is the largest in the Secunderabad Cantonment area. Around 150 vegetable vendors put up their stalls in the market. The electricity generated can power 120 street lights, 170 shops, and cold storage. Before the plant was installed, the electricity bill used to be approximately 3 to 3.5 lakhs. Now, the bill has been reduced to almost half of what it used to be.

    Collective Responsibility of People

People living around the market are supportive of the initiative. Whenever the market does not generate enough vegetable waste, people from nearby households and markets bring in vegetable waste from their own homes. People around the area have started viewing the initiative as a collective responsibility.

Suggested For You Bounce back story of Bamboo House India, Once in debt of 60 lakhs, Are now creating sustainable and eco-friendly bamboo homes

    Benefits to the Vegetable Vendors

The initiative has helped the poor vegetable vendors to light up their stalls at a relatively low cost. Additionally, awareness has increased among the vegetable vendors. The vendors now try to follow sustainable practices that are good for the environment.

    Appreciation by Prime Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the initiative. In his podcast known as ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ The Prime Minister praised everyone working for this initiative, as it is indigenous and beneficial for the environment. He called the initiative a move towards ‘Waste to Wealth.’

    Hustle Culture Will Kill You

    Hustle Culture Will Kill You

This is a companion post to my podcast episode of the same name, link here. Whilst hustle culture isn’t actually going to kill you, there’s a chance it could be really damaging to your health, both physical and mental. I’ll be honest I have no idea about the science, if there is any surrounding this, so definitely take my words with a pinch of salt. Which kind of should be a rule of thumb…
