HOW WAS TAAL AND ITS PEOPLE NOW AND HOW DID SOCIAL MEDIA CHANGED THE LIFE OF THE BATANGUEÑOS?
BY: Maricar Pascual
As we all know, Last January 12, 2020 Taal Volcano the second most active volcano in the Philippines which last erupted in 1977 awaken the land of Batangas, Tagaytay, some parts of Laguna and even the cities nearby. Many people and animals were forced to evacuate due to the rage and possible eruption of the volcano any time soon. Approximately 346,000 people have been affected by the sudden explosion. Some lost their lives and some were luckily alive and rescued.
It’s been seventeen days and yet the people of Taal were still devastated and has nothing to start with and go on with their lives. Apparently, God didn’t turned his back on them instead He used some good hearted people to reach His hands to them. Through social media, many people lent their prayers and donations to those affected by this phenomena. A lot of artists personally went there and gave their help in the utmost of what they can do.
I can say that through the help of social media, people are easy to let the people in need feel that they are not alone. We can help each other whether it is personal, online or even virtual. I must say, people really does a good job using their social media platforms with these kinds of occurrences.
I will end this blog with a quote, “In technology, it’s about the people getting the best people, retaining them, nurturing a creative environment and helping to find a way to innovate.”
It’s disheartening to look at what’s happening to the world today. We’ve already lost so much in just less than 30 days. So many lives have been taken and even more hearts have been broken. It’s times like this that we need to be there for one another. The world is cruel enough. We don’t need to add up to that cruelty.
May the souls of the late rest in peace. May the spirits and hearts that have been shattered be mended. May we all be able to love and be loved.
Before the #taalvolcanoeruption, here’s a 360° video as I stood by the main crater of Taal Volcano. 💔

A lot of people in Calabarzon Region here in the Philippines are currently struggling because of the Taal Volcano eruption that started just last Sunday, January 11, and it’s almost a week already. Meanwhile, us in nearby cities are suffering from ashfall.
This coming Monday, January 20, the Youth Prime Department of our church (Jesus The Gospel Church International - Times of Refreshing) will have a mission and we’ll be giving aid to those people who are greatly affected by this event.
I am knocking at your good hearts to be a part of this great opportunity to be a blessing to many people by giving your donation or any donation in kind that the Lord is putting into your heart. They need water, food, clothes, toiletries, blankets, medicines and N95/FFP2 masks as a lot of them were forced to evacuate and has no time to get enough things. Please DM me for anything you can contribute.
Also, your prayers will be of great help to them especially during this time. Let’s keep them in our prayers please. God is good. Thank you so much and God bless you.
P.S My birthday is on Feb. 1 and this is my birthday & prayer request. I’m good and can get/work for anything I want later but these people needs our help now. Hope you consider. God bless you. Please REBLOG. Thank you! ❤️
There are more families who are in need of our help and your generous donations will surely benefit them in this time of need. 💗
Mostly cloud, but some of that haze is ash, even though we’re 200 miles north of Taal. It got thicker after I took this too. Can only imagine what people closer to the eruption are going through.
Don’t think the decline in air quality is too noticeable here for people with normal respiratory systems, but my asthmatic ass is coughing a lot and taking extra meds. Have a sore throat from it, too. Couldn’t afford new filter cartridges for the air cleaner, either, so that’s fun. 😞
(We’re staying in for the most part, but went out today because we couldn’t put off errands any more.)
Decided to help for my kababayan in Batangas. I realized that I started the year righty. Never expect that I would be part of a big help to the first calamity that happened for the year 2020. Out of something unpleasant reveals a hidden beauty that all of us are waiting to see.
Be a blessing today.
Radiate GOD’s love to His people.
This volcanic eruption is happening right now (It’s been for days, actually). I’ve never felt so scared and astounded at the same time.

TAAL ERUPTION 2020
Posting these as my way of asking for help and prayers for my fellowmen. Our province, Batangas, is currently in a state of calamity. Lots of people in our province, especially those residing near the volcano, are still in need of help. PRAYERS ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. It’s just that it truly is a terrifying time for us at the moment. We can never tell if we will still be safe in the coming days. Please, i’m asking for your prayers, and please, if it’s not a waste of time, kindly share this. Thank you so much. :(
A lot of people (the same province as mine) still need so much help. Everyone, please, i’m humbly asking for prayers. Please pray for the well-being of so many people affected by the Taal volcano’s eruption. There are still high chances of a more explosive eruption in the coming days, we have no idea when. There’s also a possibility of volcanic tsunami, and it’s terrifying. More so, even the animals are dying and it’s honestly heartbreaking not all animals can be saved. Thank you so much.
Incredible video of the @taalvolcano_ eruption. Praying for the almost 500,000 people being evacuated out of the area, a few miles south of Manila. #taalvolcano #ocha @taalvolcano_ @the_philippines (at Fox 11 Los Angeles)
I pray for Luzon rn. Nakakatakot ang ganitong phenomenon 😭 Di rin ako makatulog kahapon dahil sa news na ‘to. Hoping you are all okay mga Luzon friends!! 😭😭 Wear mask N95 or surgical mask (effective din but not same as N95). Keep safe, stay hydrated and keep calm. 🙏🏼
