actually, one thing real quick. also never understood how not wanting to be called the q slur relates to terfs and their rhetoric. like let me ask what part of me disliking a certain term being used to refer to me relates to the violent hatred of trans women. quickly.
technically I really wouldn't mind letting trans people use w/e sexuality label they prefer as long as they actually transition etc and have any claim to the experience, and I wouldn't mind considering trans women as "biologically male women" if it was just about that and didn't go with constantly escalating demands. unforch the West gave the transbians a finger and they took the entire arm and I don't agree with cotton ceiling, liberal homophobia and CT, I don't agree to censorship and "thoughtcrimes", I don't agree to biology denial, don't agree to sex based oppression denial, don't agree to erasure of material class analysis, I'm not willing to accept obvious fetishists and predators, I'm not willing to agree that FtM don't face misogyny or HSTS don't face homophobia, I don't agree to... etc etc, I think female people deserve a movement of their own, healthcare of their own, I think the role of trans women in feminism should be as activists about the issues that concern them (like catcalling) and respectful allies about everything else. I think they should listen to criticism and check themselves for misogyny and make effort to unlearn their socialization, and respect the female body if they wish to have it. I think they should unlearn their victim complex. quit the "TME" shit, stop demanding to be centered while claiming they're just asking to be included. I used to be so much more moderate and I know I could be so much more moderate, but I also know male entitlement knows no bounds and back when I was more of a fencesitter, I was attacked relentlessly. I saw people be attacked for extremely "mild" things such as acknowledging sex based oppression exists, being exclusively homosexual, or questioning "transmisogyny" as an oppression axis. I can't stand for that. that's precisely how radicalization happens and now I refuse to do even small compromises I used to do happily to make others feel safe and welcome, because I know what follows so often
why am i suddenly on cryptoterf lesbian tiktok???? what is my fyp on ?? 😭😭😭
so cool that so many popular pro trans woman posts on tumblr have been made by people 2 years out from becoming open terfs
It must be said but Jamie Clayton serving unclockable biological fish is honestly such a win for the entire community because I haven’t seen a single transmisogynistic comment about her pinhead casting
Boris Johnson praising the LGB Alliance is disgusting and upsetting, but on the other hand it should make it 100% obvious for anyone who insisted on pretending otherwise that being a TERF is just as disgusting as being a Tory and that the TERFs are the people who have the power on this issue. Their claims to be victims have always been laughable, but imagine trying to make those claims when the actual Prime Minister is on your side.
Re: Boris, the fact that nobody has David Amess-ed him yet continues to disappoint.
So yeah—but I think y’all REALLY need to block whitehairedanimeboyfriend. Not only is he friends with like, dead-dyke, nothorses, etc., and has issues with anti blackness. But he is also very transmisogynstic like the rest of them are but this specifically is very iffy:
the belief that trans women are trying to emulate teenage girls or act like teenage girls, is a terf dog whistle because terfs say this weird shit to call trans women predatory, and act as if they’re targeting or trying to attract teen girls.
but more than anything, this is just a weird thing to say and idk why a trans man is speaking of trans fems transitions.
also it’s weird because cis women do like, sometimes dress up like in like anime girl aesthetics and stuff and no one says anything. like cis women will cosplay and sometimes even emulate their favorite anime girl characters. but when like, trans girls do it it’s a problem. like when trans girls like anime aesthetics and wanna emulate or feel comfortable in anime characters then suddenly it’s them trying to look like 14 year olds--but not when cis women do it--I--
anyway, just block this person
also--when you ask why i don’t like the term transandrophobia, it’s because of this. because people who use this term to describe themselves are also these same people who will randomly go after trans women when trans women have nothing to do wiht them
I don’t care how much you think you’re helping making performative positivity posts and sorting them with tags that make it incredibly easy for terfs to find them after you platform trans women on your blog is literally violence. Like that is dangerous. Especially if you’re putting our faces on there as well. Like you’re literally allowing them to find us. How do people not understand this
crying and screaming I’m so glad I turned my asks off after I made that rant because some tme made this post directly in response to it right after they put it on their blog where any terf can see it and tagged it with anti terf tags even though terfs literally use and follow those to find trans women and cryptos. not only that but this post is so bad and misses the entire point of what i said and is incredibly transmisogynistic in the process. nightmarish. stop doing this
The root of TERF hate is not men, it's trans women. Please don't remove cis men from the role they have has with validating and platforming TERFS, and who are often violent towards trans women.
Cis men are the largest enablers of TERFS and acting like cis men occupy the same place of discrimination that trans women occupy is incorrect.
Cis men are TERFS. TERFS would not exist without the help of cis men. Please be aware of this. I think folks tend to give men a slap on the wrist in terms of transphobia due often to misogyny, but men have played a large role in enabling TERFS and enacting transphobic legislation.
no bc when you’re the only trans woman in a tme friend group it changes the way you trust people. seriously
Margaret Atwood went full mask-off TERF because WP turned Vriska trans and when she had to strike her from the kinlist her hands were shaking so badly that she accidentally deleted her whole blog. Vriska's fault.
I feel like a lot of the weirdly defensive replies on that tucking post are entirely missing the point, which is that dysphoria doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Like, the OP is fucking obviously not implying that trans women who tuck due to dysphoria are doing it simply bc of cis people, but the fact remains that dysphoria exists because cissexist society imposes rigid conceptions of what gendered bodies look like on us. Tucking is a really blatant example of that too because it’s essentially hiding your genitals to make it look like you have the socially imposed idea of what “female genitalia” looks like under clothing - it’s a form of internalized transmisogyny (when in fact some level of internalized transphobia is ultimately what all dysphoria is).
People are just incapable of recognizing that this is a fucking complicated discussion that you really need to consider as being enmeshed in societal structures of gender rather than being black and white - no one is calling anyone a bad person for having internalized transphobia in the form of dysphoria that they are not imposing on others (and if they are, they’re an idiot), but recognizing where dysphoria comes from I think is important to moving away from levels of self hatred that can be dangerous and upsetting. Suffice to say, it’s not our fault for having gender imposed on us, but unhealthy expectations that are propagated in-community, like tucking, often relieve dysphoria specifically because we are told it does by other people who were told it does and it goes on and on.
