A moodboard for Persephone, one of my Final Fantasy XIV kintypes. I’ll probably make a couple more for various parts of her life (as well as for the other Persephone I kin with), but this one is just for her in general.
Please do not tag this as kin/me. Thank you.

I hope you have a beautiful day today, @little-butterfly-writes! Here’s a little something for you~
She’s up before you; she always is.
You stir slowly, your eyes feeling heavy. Some shadowy corner in the back of your mind whispers that there’s something special about today, but your thoughts are too thick with sleep to remember. You reach for her, but her spot in the bed is empty.
“Jaehee?” You wiggle to free yourself from the comforter as you call her name. No answer.
You yawn and open your eyes. Warm morning light streams in through the window; you breathe deeply and remember what day it is.
“You’re up!” Jaehee appears in the doorway, a steaming mug in each hand. And in the morning, even she is slightly rumpled: her hair (past her shoulders now) is tucked casually behind her ears and there’s the slightest hint of a pillow crease on her cheek.
“Come here, beautiful,” you say. She smiles and flushes (because even now, in the home that you share, it is so easy for you to knock her off balance). She sets the mugs on the bedside table and perches delicately on the mattress beside you. Somehow, her body doesn’t leave a single wrinkle on the comforter (it never does).
“Happy birthday, sweetheart,” she murmurs. She cups your cheeks with her perfect little hands and kisses your lips and your head spins. This room is so full of her: the air is infused with her faint coconut and vanilla scent, and the sound of her breathing is in and around you.
And it is the most natural thing in the world to pull her into your lap—to comb through her silky hair and kiss her harder. She shivers: overcome by you.
“I made you tea,” she whispers into your lips, and you smile because of course she is thinking of this.
“It can wait,” you say. And it is then—as you are kissing her senseless (her lips, her neck, her ear, and her lips again)—that you hear it: a key turning; a door opening.
You sit up straight. There’s only one other person who has a key to this apartment—and it is just like her to show up unannounced.
Jaehee slides from your lap, and you grin at the sight of her nervously straightening her skirt. You love to see her flustered.
“Did you know she was coming?” you ask.
“I did,” Jaehee says. “I’m not the only one who loves you, after all.”
Ah, and there are footsteps in the hall—but you wait, knowing she will find you.
“Here you are.”
Rika drifts into the room as if blown in by a breeze off the sea. Her hair falls around her face in rivers of shimmering honeysuckle; her eyes are bright and glittering. And if Jaehee is the center around which your universe revolves, Rika is the stars that dust your sky.
“I didn’t know whether I’d see you today,” you say. You stand and Jaehee brushes her lips across your cheek and slips from the room; take your time, her eyes seem to say—but not too much time.
“I couldn’t possibly be anywhere else.” Rika comes to you on quiet feet and you open your arms for her; she laughs, light as air, and lays her head on your chest. Her hair flutters all around her, tickling your bare shoulders.
“How are you?” you ask her. She twists in your arms to look up into your face; lately, her eyes are so clear.
“Today is a good day,” she says—and she doesn’t say the next part, but you know that not every day is so good. Still, she is shifting—growing—steadying. You kiss her smile and she tastes of a summer storm.
“Is there any reason in particular that today is so good?” you tease. She runs her soft little hands through your hair, making you shiver.
“Because today belongs to you, darling.” She kisses you once—twice—and the room seems to dissolve. It is always this way: she parts her lips and everything fades.
“I’m glad you came,” you say, feeling dizzy. Her hands fall to your waist, and she gazes into your eyes.
“You can have anything in the world, lovely girl,” Rika whispers. “Tell us what you’d like.”
And you hear that she says us and not me—and at that very moment, Jaehee returns: silent on slippered feet, a soft smile playing over her pretty pink lips.
Ah, there is so much you could ask for—so much you’d like to do today. But the world feels soft around the edges; if just for now, you only want to—
“Hold me,” you say. “Both of you.”
Jaehee’s warm eyes widen, but Rika is unfazed. You giggle and fall back on the bed. The satiny sheets soothe your skin, and you smile up at the ceiling: waiting.
They come to you—of course they do.
Jaehee slips effortlessly into her spot beside you, shivery but sure. You rest your head on her shoulder and she breathes deeper; this is, after all, where you belong.
Rika unfurls on your other side, her hair spilling everywhere. She drapes an arm across your body, and you smile.
The day is long. There is time to celebrate outside of your small, sun-warmed apartment—but for now, you only want to be here.
Jaehee’s cheek is warm and Rika’s is cool; you are surrounded by sweet scents and soft limbs and loving eyes.
And you can hear it: the sound of two hearts (beating just for you).
