“‘Who’s up for a metaphor? We’re up for a metaphor! Are you chicks up for a metaphor? Yes, we’re up for a metaphor!”
Day 20 of Sparkstember, part 2. Not too terribly long ago, I was listening to Hello Young Lovers for what I thought was the first time... until I suddenly found myself singing “Chicks dig, dig, D-I-G dig, dig metaphors!!” along to the song “Metaphor.” Figures that that would be the only song that stuck with me from back then (being a chick who digs metaphors). Anyway, here are some gifs of Sparks performing it.
#Sparks#Sparkstember #Hello Young Lovers #gifs#MY gifs#Russell Mael#Ron Mael #and no other band members are included in this gifset so i won't tag them but there are several other people onstage #i. love. this. song. #and i love this performance because Russell jumps in the air TWICE and there are 2 Rons (as it should be... just in general) #(there should always be more of him lol) #Deeveedee #is what the DVD is called and it used to all be on youtube but i think it might have been taken down
If you are a human not living under a rock then you might be familiar with ‘Kpop’. The industry has boomed over the last years and has found influence and fame around the globe. But is it often the case that some gems or bops do not get the recognition they deserve. So today your author is going to write her personal picks of kpop songs that deserve more::))
1. ‘Stay’- Blackpink
Surprised? Not at all! Stay is undoubtedly BP’s more underrated song followed by bestie ‘Hope Not’. People often complain about BP’s lyrics calling them out for having repetitive lines and ‘irrational’ lines but they ignore the existence of their actual good lyrics. Stay is a well composed and written song and displays a ravishing balance between Rose’s melodious vocal pieces, Jennie’s rich and smooth vocal tone, Jisoo’s beautifully cold and emotional voice and Lisa’s more warm and swag range.
2. ‘Signal’ Twice
‘Signal’ is not an underrated track as it has more than 200 million views on YouTube! But it is quite hated. ‘Signal’ is my favorite Twice, It is bubbly, fun and full of life. I do see the reason why people might hate it because I myself hated it in the first listen. But once I took the patience to listen to the whole track, I fell in love with it.
3. ‘Danger’- BTS
Anyone explanation? Strong rock references, robust rap sequences, perfect vocal combinations, visually stunning. That’s all your honor.
4. ‘Deja Vu’- Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatchers yet again gave justice to a masterpiece. The rock ballad is a stunningly dizzy array of soft vocals, prominent beats and haunting visuals. Truly a masterpiece!
5. ‘Really Bad Boy’- Red Velvet
RBB is a waft of fresh air and innovativeness if you ever get consumed by generic tracks. It’s a fun music piece with horror references and blonde Seulgi! What else do you need.
I have only brushed the surface of what lies an endless tunnel with sublime music but Alas! Your author id running out of time and a tiny bit lazy haha.
Getting to know TWICE for the first time with TWICE TV!
EP1: Interview with Nayeon and Tzuyu
MY COMMENTS: I absolutely adore Nayeon, she captivated me since the first time I saw Twice ♡ She’s a cutie. It must’ve been really hard for Tzuyu to start training in Korea without speaking the language. When she talked about watching other trainees having fun, hanging out etc and she felt excluded because of the language barrier, I felt really bad for her. Well, it seems like she speaks Korean just fine now! Special mention regarding her saying she’d like to volunteer a lot to charities with Twice members. So cute of her! Her beauty is inexplicable, btw.
