Whumpee is trapped in a landslide or collapsed building, and also the temperature is dropping. Even if they're not seriously injured, there's a clock ticking before they succumb to the cold.
When the whumpee focuses in on a tiny detail just before they pass out.
- “That’s a beautiful flower...”
- “The ceiling is cracked…”
- “Wow… So many stars…”
- “He has such green eyes...”
- “There’s blood on the ground… Where is it coming— oh… it’s me.”
A and B body swap. There aren’t enough body swap fics.
“A? You okay in there?”
“I’m going to take that as a no.”
“Go ahead and try.” They smirked.
That whump scenario where whumpee was kidnapped and it's time for bed and whumper is getting them ready. It's planned for them to share the bed/be in the same space/room, for just cuddling and sleep at this point.
Our captive whumpee is horrified and obviously adamantly refuses. And how does whumper respond? "You don't want to sleep? Fine. You won't sleep." Whumper then takes whumpee somewhere and straps them down and whenever whumpee starts to fall asleep they are hurt in some way. Perhaps it starts small and grows to worse pains. But the progression and different kinds leaves so many opportunities.
Electric shock is an obvious one but then theirs pricking, slicing, pulling fingernails or even breaking (and then fixing/bandaging) a finger or whatever (don't like permanent injuries, but if you do, your character can have messed up fingers or whatever).
The breakdown of the whumpee from the sleep deprivation and the pain would be/is always beautiful. From begging whumper to stop the pain and to please let them sleep, to being told that they said they didn't want to sleep, so whumper, being the kind man be is, was only helping them with that.
And oh, when it gets to that point where whumpee begs whumper to hold them, to forgive them, to please give them another chance to be held, it honestly heals my heart.
I LOVE A GOOD BOUT OF BEGGING. Especially when it leads to ensaring our poor whumpee even more.
When the whumpee starts getting hypothermic on a mission in a cold, snowy area, but they try to push through it without telling their teammates, because they haven't been on the team very long and they don't want to be an inconvenience. One of their teammates noticing just how much the whumpee is shivering, and telling the team leader that the whumpee needs shelter and warmth. The team leader deciding it’s time to find shelter for the night, and as soon as they’ve found shelter, going over to the whumpee and asking if they’re ok. The whumpee trying to deny that anything’s wrong, but being so cold and out of it that their leader simply ignores them and leads them to sit down. The rest of the team helping the leader get the whumpee situated in the leader’s arms, and then wrapping the two in a blanket. The whumpee leaning into the team leader’s touch almost involuntarily, too cold to stop themself, and the leader gently scolding them about hiding how cold they were as they hold them close, trying to share as much warmth as possible.
When the whumpee gets out of the hospital after being rescued, and the caretaker takes them to stay over for a few days as they continue to recover. The caretaker getting the whumpee inside and onto the couch, then covering them in blankets and trying to make them comfortable. The caretaker’s dog coming over and curling up against the whumpee’s side, and the whumpee nearly crying as they reach down to pet them. The two of them falling asleep together, and the whumpee sleeping better than they have since they were rescued, finally feeling safe.
Saw this on Instagram and thought some of y'all would appreciate it
I am all for recovering/rescued whumpees trying to take back control of their life.
Like, getting tattoos to cover up painful scars, so that every time they see them, it’s something that brings them joy instead of those painful memories. Or dyeing/cutting their hair, so they look how they want to. Changing what kind of clothes they wear so they’re more comfortable. Doing all the things and eating all the foods they never could’ve when they were with their whumper. Picking up those old hobbies that gave them joy.
You know, all those little things that help them feel better. I love it.
Whumpee is forced to strip and chained to the ceiling of an old warehouse by Whumper, then used as a human punching bag for weeks on end. Eventually, Whumpee’s body cannot take the pressure and they die. It’s months later that the now rotting corpse of Whumpee is found and carried out on a stretcher.
“Sorry, what was that?” The torture says. The whumpee can only make guttural sounds and throaty moans through their bloodstained teeth.
“The torturer get your tongue?” They say with a sadistic smile, holding up the bloody remains of the whumpees tongue in between a pair of forceps.
Whumpee trying to find a way to style their hair so that Caretaker doesn’t notice all the hair they ripped out during a recent panic attack.
