The Wen Remnants always remind me of the question how many deaths are too many deaths?
A-Yuan was the only child in the Burial Mounds. The fate of the other children is chilling. Like, the Jins killed infants and even pregnant women. What happened to five-six year olds? What happened to the adolescents?
And it always leads me to one of the most common war crimes. R*pe. It definitely happened. Question is, other than women, who else was subjected to it?
They were also experimented upon. So, their souls might never get rest. Even children. Did they even know what was happening? Did they even know why it was happening? Probably not, because nothing justifies that.
And all the other sects just chilled while this happened. Because they either didn't know, or they didn't care. After all, Wens were their enemies. Besides, one death is a tragedy and hundred deaths are statistic.
I mean nobody even ASKED about the children, where did they go, what happened to them? Nobody.
This is the reason why I stan Wei Wuxian. He stood up for the people NOBODY would have stood up for. Not even Lan Wangji.
#mdzs #mo dao zu shi #lan wangji vs jiang cheng #wei wuxian is not an add on for Jiang Cheng's needed maturity #he's the inverse that made it worse by coddling him #and Jiang Cheng was always a negative presence for Wei Wuxian
To further Elborate on The Lan Zhan and Carol recast thing .Both Carols Father and Wei Wuxian were basically blamed for helping people Carol Father just wanted to use alchemy to help people but the village basically witch hunted him cause they thought his “miracle” was impossible
well Wei Wuxian was just Protecting an Group of basically defenseless now people who don’t know MDZS probably wouldnt see the problems until I tell you that Other sect Just fought a war with The Big Opressive Sect they came from , Wen and. They were basically. trying kill any trace of this Sect off the face of the Earth . Also before His Death he Told Wangji or Lan Zhan to basically go away despite saving his ass which honsetly It’s not too farfehe’d to think maybe just maybe Wangji would end blaming his Death on a Society that just didn’t care that Wei Wuxian was doing his duty to protect the Wens who honestly didn’t do anything. Just like Carols Father did nothing but create a cure for a plague and was Witch hunted for it .
This got long, sorry! But episodes 28 and 29 are among my favourites, and this scene... This scene. What it must mean to Wei Wuxian! I mean, how lonely he must have felt after severing his ties to Yunmeng Jiang in the previous episode, how desperate to look after the Wen remnants, how worried for Wen Ning.
Then Lan Wangji comes to Yiling, comes to look for him (never mind his feeble excuses). Meets A-Yuan, buys toys for him. Has dinner with them. And when the message comes that something is wrong at the Burial Mounds, Lan Wangji accompanies him, no questions asked.
What it must mean to Wei Wuxian to have Lan Wangji have his back here, to slip back into the seamless coordination, the wordless communication, the effective battle couple mode they must have perfected during the Sunshot Campaign. To have Lan Zhan at his side again.
And what it must mean to Wei Wuxian to see consciousness return to Wen Ning's eyes, to see Wen Qing get her brother back. To see him reunited with his family. And to have Lan Wangji witness that, to have him see that sometimes something good can be accomplished by unconventional, "crooked" methods. That, as he has already started to see perhaps, things are not always black and white.
LWJ's paranoia that it all might be a dream would lead him to intertwine his pinky finger with WWX's when the latter fell fast asleep. Every time WWX rolled away from him, LWJ would gently tug him back with his pinky until he was again practically lying on top of LWJ and each time LWJ's heart would skip a beat hearing WWX's peaceful sigh as he snuggled closer.
